Tells me Garland or Brock another trade is already in the works. NJD?

It feels like this deal is a knee-jerk reaction in the part of JR/PA. Beauvillier, Raty and a protected 1st for Horvat is the best they could do? I mean, ok? I can see the upside with Raty and Beauvillier being a replacement for Mik but that first should have been unprotected it else they should have given up another prospect. One wonders if they waited they could have gotten more somewhere else.

So we traded a 31-goal scorer for a guy with 9 goals and a cap hit like Mikheyev, no change to the D. a midround first and a prospect. Sounds about right for the Canucks.

Too soon to b1tch about the deal but I am getting ready to.

- VANTEL

It’s a deep draft & lines us up for a D in the 1st. More to come from trader Jim.

Just bugging you RK but yeah he is another Mikheyev.

Yeah I’m not giddy about this deal. Hopefully Raty and that pick turn out to be good.
- Nucker101

Raty started as a possible 1oa fell off big like say Lambert but found himself. In the AHL doing great. I think he just had a lull in developing but I like his potential. Still a lil risky but he’ll get a chance to play here.

Not a huge fan of Beauvillier, but he has nice speed, good at putting on puck pressure and occasionally throws a few hits, unlike the 2 you mentioned.

It is more about getting Raty and the 1st that I like about this trade, although I still think Bolduc also should have been added.

- Reubenkincade

If Beauvillier does ok in Vancouver, they can always flip him at the next deadline if he's not going to be part of their future.
It's a decent trade and a lot better than Vantel's nightmare scenario.

So what's up with Anthony Beauvillier?

Does he have wheels?

49 GP with 9g and 11a on the NYI so hopefully good for 20/20 in a middle 6 role?

I am surprised Reuben like Beauv. He has the same cap hit as Mikheyev and Garland and less points.

I don't know enough about the prospect to be happy about the deal and I certainly won't get excited about drafting above 12 with PA/JR.

Not complaining but am in wait and see mode.

- VANTEL

He could get flipped. Idk

Can't say i'm up to date on any NYI prospects/players, but the one thing i'm pleased with is mgmt getting the deal done ahead of the TDL and putting this one to bed.

Hopefully more to come.

Raty was highly touted after a great world juniors a couple years back but has failed to gain a permanent spot on an islander team desperate for scoring. That should tell you everything.
- TurdFergeson

Guarded optimism but a fairly safe C to get. NYI is built for D which can stifle offensive creativity. Wahlstrom for example hasn’t blossomed.

Let’s just say that after his initial “new team bump” wears off and fans go “I like him!” he’ll fit in nicely with Boeser/Garland/Pearson

I sort of agree. If they wouldn't unprotect the 1st, at least a conditional pick if they resign Bo....

Still, it's a trade that puts the desired return in the wheel house to a decent degree.

Canucks play Isles soon. You may see one if Schenn hits an Isles player too hard or Garland pokes at Sorokin after the whistle

Schenn/Garland might also be gone by then so maybe not

If you mean a 3rd line winger, I agree.

They have 3 of them all making over 4 million, but Beauviller is 600 K less than Mikheyev and 800k less than Garland.
Then you have 4th line winger, Boeser making over 6.5
