Also took Edvinsson at 6th
- Nighthawk

He was consistently seen as a top 10 pick. Earliest Mock had him going 5th, rarely lower than 8th.

One of our few times I fully agree with one of your posts.

You trade Kuzmenko now you get another Lickermaki drafting in the 20 range.
Wait a year his value goes up and you get a Bo like return at the next TDL.

The other scenario is you get a very good player to continue entertaining you.

I know everyone wants immediate change but as most of them say this team isn't winning nothing in the next two years so what's the hurry to go and undersell a big asset.

Mgmt said retool. Ppl gotta get over the rebuild wish. It AIN’t Happening.

Wild stat that I’m sure Rubes will just love:

Bo Horvat is the most recently drafted CHL player on the Canucks that was drafted and developed by the team.

He got drafted 10 years ago

Rest are all Euros/Muricans or brought in from other organizations.

That’s pretty insane.

I was listening to Frank Seravelli yesterday and he had some good comments.

One question he answered was "are NYI on the outside no circling back to a JTM trade". His answer was simply no one ever knows what Uncle Lou is thinking but he definitely should take a second look at trading for Miller.

The other thing was should Canucks let Bo talk to other teams about a contract extension and he said absolutely not. He then referred to the Boston signing of Lindholm hours after the trade to a very complex multiyear signing.

He said letting other GMs talk to Bo beforehand will lower the value seeing they can just wait a few months and get him for free. He said when it is narrowed down to one team who is serious and have the best offer then it may be alright.

All they should be doing is finding out what teams he is willing to sign with (short list) and they can let the GM know he is willing to discuss extension after the trade. That alone will bump his value a little bit.
- Retinalz

That would follow if contract talks fall apart & they let Bo know he’ll be traded. I don’t think it’s at that point yet & still time before it gets there. I predicted Feb 14 trade for a reason such as this.

Tunnel vision only considering what the post says. There is this little opportunity thing called a trade that has not gone away.
- Nighthawk

Yeah I think he's still highly moveable at the deadline and if anything we've gained leverage. There's no pressure to move a really good player at a reasonable extension despite the rebuild. It may cancel out the teams that want a pure rental but that opportunity will still be there in 2 seasons.

I've watched/read a few Yzerman tweets, he goes out of his way to mention how hard it is to find good players down the middle(Center/Dman/Goalie) so I can see why he'd be giddy over a Larkin-Horvat duo down the middle with Copp moving into a more appropriate 3C/swiss army knife role.

He's a fine reclamation project target but trade value wise, he's worth a little more than a guy like Studnicka
- Nucker101

Just another winger that needs others traded out before it’s worth considering. He’s floundered & hasn’t earned a spot or close to it.

Feel like Yzerman just views this as a rare opportunity, I mean how often does a 27 year old 30+ goal center become available via trade or free agency? Plus he likely wants to take advantage of having some young cost-controlled players on the team and still coming up through the system.

I get it as long as the price makes sense.

The fact that it isn't even me and the attempt was made is more sad and pathetic. Now some poor sap from Blackfalds AB has his pic floating around HB. Not cool.

I don't know what their back up plan is with the goalies. I don't even know what teams would want Demko, but I keep hearing his name tossed out there.

Important piece to the mix. Weegar has been average, Zadorov still has a brain fart once or twice a game, Stone is a 7th D at best, Mackey can’t get a consistent opportunity, even though he’s looked better than others.
Tanev like him or not, he’s still a warrior, calming affect out there.

Marky’s broken, at Vladar has played decent.
