They do but the ask is high. Higher than what NYR would be willing to do. Rutherford might need to drop the asking price a bit to move the contract.

I noticed that the Athletic article you posted regarding the best ever goal scorer didn’t even mention Mario. Gretzky, Howe, and Ovi were listed.

Mario's GP was 75.4% while Ovi is 61.3%, Gretzky was 60.1% and Howe was 45.3%

Mario was far better than all 3 of them and it really isn't close. If Lemieux playd 1300+ games, he could have scored over 1000 goals based off of his scoring rate. Lemieux was the best ever.

I think we all saw that coming, not that we wanted it.

Hopefully no trade protection. Keeps a talented winger on Petey's line, hopefully can flip him in 1-2 years if he's racking up the points and the team is still floundering.
