I got my sports enjoyment yesterday watching an entertaining Seahawks game, combined with another embarrassing loss by the Bronco's.
- VanHockeyGuy

Whatever happens this year with the Seahawks is just amazing to watch. Playoffs, no playoffs, doesn't matter, they've blown away expectations and their rookies are playing so well. I just hope Denver doesn't win another game and they can address their D line in the first 2 rounds this year

Elliotte mentions Canucks were trying to get Horvat signed in the high 6s/low 7s in the summer. It's out of that stratosphere now.

Mentions it's trending towards him not re-signing.

I figured the Seahawks would go 3-14 this season, I didn't expect that from the Bronco's so it's a pleasant surprise.

They'll have huge draft capital next year.

How do you know?

The moves the new management group has made along with the fact that they've said they don't have a desire to rebuild.

Yup, that's a steep ask price from Horvat's camp.

I wouldn't be adverse to any player on the team moved for the right return.

- VanHockeyGuy

I am good with anyone traded, the more the merrier.

Also, the coach plays Bo and Miller an average of 21:06/game, which is 1st line minutes, the 2nd line top player(Pouty) is just under 20 minutes per game

Geno Smith has been amazing for Seattle, written off by everyone and here he is in MVP form. He's getting paid next year.

Elliotte: I think Boeser in this situation, he's not only upset he's getting scratched but he's also upset that he find out by looking at the board.

(Wasn't told by a coach directly)

- VanHockeyGuy

(frank) you Brock! You whiney emo female dog! The team stopped owing this punk anything when he showed up to camp out of shape again. (frank)ing twat

I have been pretty clear on my position, in regards to those 2 players over the years. Whether people agree with me or not.

Someone will pay it. That doesn't have to be the Canucks. Cap world, can't keep everyone all the time.

Canucks need to develop a culture where players aren't overpaid to come here or stay. Paid fairly certainly but not overpaid.

Broncos are 3-6 in 1 score games. They paid to get a QB to win those games and he has literally done the opposite.

I wonder if the get a top 3 pick from Denver, if they decide to trade down to 5/6/7 slot and pick up more capital from a team wanting QB certainty. That's assuming they don't want to take one of the QBs... but they could fill an extra hole or two with an extra 1st or 2nd from trading down only a few slots.

There was a stat along the lines of that if the Broncos had scored 18 points in each of their games, they would be 9-3... and the team scored an average of 18 points with Lock last year

Ya thought they could squeak out maybe 6 wins if that. Been a nice surprise and effort this year.

That's correct. Russell Wilson is injured but as I tried to tell you when you told me he was still a top 10 QB in the league. He sucks.

It is being reported that Brock Boeser’s agent is doing the “agent thing” and talking to other teams about possible fits. This is something that happens way more than it comes out, and when it actually does make it out there it likely means the team is making it clear to bring the offers…

One surprise place may be Pittsburgh. The Penguins have always liked Boeser and I am hearing that desire is still there and being pursued…

The Capitals, Devils, and Islanders are all possible as well…

More to come on this and other rumors out there today.

Most are only going to happen if Van takes back a contract.

A team’s cap hit is calculated based on each day of the season (186 days). For every day a player is on the roster, the team’s cap hit is their full year cap hit divided by 186. Once a player is on the roster, the calculations assume they will be on the roster for the remainder of year. Example: If a player with a $925K cap hit gets called up 86 days into the season (100 days remaining), on that day the team’s projected cap hit for the year goes up $497,312 ($925K/186)*100.

Cap space “accrues” over time. A team with $500K cap room to start the year can add a player with a $1,000,000 Cap Hit halfway through season (Day 93). Due to the way the cap is calculated, a player worth $1M annually will only count for $500,000 in actual cap charge through the remainder of the year.

4.65M would be Boeser's cap hit to the other team if traded today. I believe.

The Penguins like Brock because of how he owned Matt Murray every game he played against him

Of the teams mentioned, only the Islanders have any projected space, so there definitely needs to be a contract coming back.
