So it does seem like the plan is to sign BOTH Bo & Kuz.

I want them to sign Kuz but bringing back Bo would be far worse than Boeser. I’m in no way comparing Bo to that pathetic excuse for a hockey player but moving Bo is the only way for a real culture change

Clap clap for us, the fans! Hahaha he must like the landscape, or maybe he's a seafood guy.

For some reason, I don't think the Canucks will be attracting free-agents.
- Reubenkincade

I read that with the clown show with Pearson & Boudreau, along with being the laughing stock of the NHL & national media, agents will be asking for a significant premium for their clients signing in Vancouver. Not a surprise.

Yeah I was going to ask if you think trading ONLY Bo is considered a rebuild to you.

I think arguments can be made either way, but that to me would be the very definition of retool or whatever other words they've used to avoid saying rebuild.

Something has to give for them to sign both Bo & Kuz, it will be interesting to see how they accomplish that!

Sign Kuz and trade Bo for unproven talent.

We're probably lower than Edmonton now with McDavid mostly cancelling out living in that sh*thole.

I want them to trade every player on the team. As you mentioned, a rebuild isn’t happening so the single most important piece to move is Bo. They want to build around Elias and Hughes (huge mistake). Seeing as that’s the case, they should keep Kuzy imo. The kid plays the right way. Super skilled but has some jam and isn’t afraid of mixing it up or going to hard areas of the ice. Big fan

Even Demko who was originally supposed to be out for only 6 weeks, is now looking like it will be more like 10 weeks.

Kuzmenko is one year younger than Bo. One guy plays Center, one guy plays winger

Good luck replacing Bo if the goal is re-tool

I agree.
I look forward to seeing how Pouty handles the important minutes, without Bo around. I have a feeling it won't go well.
If this team was close, I would be all-in on trying to re-sign the 3 main UFA's, but mediocrity kills that idea.
Bo and Schenn will be great Bruins.

They will have about 30 million tied up in all these elite wingers.

As much as Bo lacks some grit, he will be hard to replace, unless they get lucky at the draft.

Yeah I like Kuz too. He's really surprised me how good he is and how fast he adapted to North American ice and game. Many his age never figure it out despite their KHL resume. I first thought you have to trade him. 1 year UFA and this team is not ready to win. Few and far between these days, but looks like the geography and lifestyle pulled through enticing him. If he doesn't ink by trade deadline though, you have to trade him.

I too think it's a mistake to build around Hughes. He's perhaps the best chance we have to get some pieces. This D core is completely busted and I think he is mentally as well. I've long expressed the Tanev effect. I think he's an excellent player and I think he can be elite, but not here anymore. Here he tries to do too much b/c no one else can do anything ... and it ends up looking like pond hockey.

They can't keep both Bo & Kuz. Right now they're just concerned about battling for a WC spot. They'll worry about the UFA stuff later in the summer.

Yup. Trading Bo while trying to turn this team around quickly is a hilarious concept.

It’s like this franchise wants to be stuck in no man’s land. Like if I was a rival team this exactly what I’d want the Canucks to do.

Horvat has been on the team for eight years, and they've sucked for seven and a half of those years. So you wanna pay him more to get the same results? That's just foolishness. The team needs different players and to start a new culture, moving Horvat is the wise thing to do because he's a player other teams want and they probably have players that can supplement what he can provide. The Canucks don't, thus it's time to move him and start over.
