No, teams avoid saying rebuild, because that is a term that media wants to hear.

I swear you were just mentioning about how media influences certain people, yet here you are, demanding they use a media term.

Signs of going slow is Demko not being ridden like a rented mule once he’s back 100% healthy. A better sign is him finding his old self & team playing for each other. That can still keep up in a stealth tank mode if TOI is spread around keeping us picking in the 6th to 8th range.

I could see these prospects gone in roughly this order.

Bedard
Fantilli
Carlson
Michkov
- Smith or Benson

Leaves us either Benson or Smith at 6 or choice of Yeager or Dvorsky maybe Barlow if a winger due to what any trades fetch. I’ll take preferably Yager 1st then Dvorsky.

No goalie was or is worth 10m maybe other than Hasek. No contract of that size ever was smart without longer sample size & prime years ahead buying up UFA years. That goes for all skaters as well not named McDavid. ONLY generational players get the BIG contract or win 2 or 3 Stanley’s.
