If Tocchet can piss off enough players, and Petey says "(frank) this poopshow, I'm outa here", a rebuild may be forced on them. They are closer today with a hardass coach then yesterday (Iron Mike Kennen style) Who would have thought they would have ever traded Linden then? And he was more Alpha than Petey and this bunch of Millennial Mind Midgets.

I’ve dealt with Tocchet for the better part of three decades. I personally think he’s a good coach. But I also think Boudreau was a good coach – and would be considered a great coach if his playoff record came anywhere close to the regular-season results he’s previously extracted from teams in Washington, Anaheim and Minnesota.

But the transition from one to the next didn’t have to be this sloppy.

It paints a picture of an uncaring organization.

It’s something that the hierarchy, from ownership on down, needs to repair.

Nowadays, it’s hard enough to recruit players to play in Canada, once they get a chance to actually decide for themselves.

It’ll get even harder if you have a mediocre team on the ice with a reputation for treating people badly off the ice.

How events unfolded this week was a complete clown show. If you’re the Canucks, you need to borrow a phrase from the great song writer (and sometime Vancouver resident) Elvis Costello: Clown time is over.

They need to be better. And it needs to start today.

Spot on. Canadian teams are already at a disadvantage so if you don’t have your poop together then good luck when it comes to attracting and retaining talent.

Canucks are the joke of the league right now. 5th coach in 10 years. This is what the Oilers were when we laughed at them whine the Sedins used to toy with them on the ice, except the Canucks have had pooptier tanking seasons with lower picks.
