I don’t think it’s a bad contract, he (Miller) gets paid what the market value says he’s worth. In the past three seasons he’s put up over a point per game in 200+ games. LA just gave up a 1st round pick and 20 year old Brock Faber for Kevin Fiala. They then signed him to a similar deal to Millers. Yeah he’s (Fiala) three years younger but Millers contract is not outrageous given his offensive output.

Canucks fans think their players are one-off terrible because we watch them all the time. Truth be told, there’s no such thing as a perfect player, they all have warts when it comes to their individual games.

Personally none of us know what Rutherford and Allvin are thinking or what they’ve talked to other teams about. Maybe they haven’t offered up Miller? Who knows. I don’t think they know if they wanna rebuild, re-tool or compete. So they sit looking foolish with inaction.

Probably why other teams are laughing at them.

Other GM's in the summer questioning what Van was doing. Now Van asking for "help" from other teams in looking for u26 D.

What team is going to give them a life line?

Other GM's are going to say, you take back a bad contract and we give you picks that are lower value than the player even though you are still taking back a bad contract.

They look at Van's prospect pool . You have no D prospects. No C's. Why would we help you out.

You can't make this sh1t up! To top it off you have this huge management team that clearly doesn't have the experience or autonomy to do their job. The results to date speak for themselves, they don't know what to do.

As Miller said last season, we don't know what we are doing, just like this management group.

Look at a team like the Rangers. They have Trouba, Fox, Schneider. No space for former 1st round pick Lundkvist who really hasn't shown he has top 4 abilities in the NHL at 21. They get a first round pick and a potentially a 4th back.

Now that trade for Miller for Lundkvist, Chytil and a 1st would look pretty damn good for the Canucks if they would have traded Lundkvist in the same deal.

Extra 1st round picks in back to back years plus a young center in Chytil. Cap space.

Playoff mandate no matter what will always have the Canucks on the losing side.

The Canucks PR team has their work cut out for them for their next presser, scripted fluffy Q&A from the local sports slurpers. They want to get to the Xmas trade freeze asap and go back into hiding.

Rangers aren't gonna make the playoffs this year, but I get the point. It takes some savvy moves to escape the bubble and become a contender. Something this organization hasn't seen happen in years.

And Rutherford & Co appear to be an extension of the previous regime. The last good GM's were Quinn & Burke. Things really haven't changed much since then, complacent in mediocracy.

It seemed that the Burke era through to Gillis, at least each GM was building something that fed the next. That's where the success came from.

I don't see many GM's in the league capable of cleaning the mess that Benning left. But definitely this group is compounding things to where the next group is screwed as well.

The Rangers probably got rid of the right coach with a below average team and got the wrong coach with a balanced team.

Rangers should be winning a bit more than they have though. The Canucks have won more than they should be.

No one‘s going to help them out, but that’s no different from any other team. The premise of being a National Hockey League general manager isn’t to help each other out, it’s to do the best for your organization.

Ultimately, signing him, Miller, to an extension before they had to was ridiculously stupid. But again, it’s the dysfunction of the whole organization. Which is a separate issue from the actual value of his contract.

Bergeron is one of the best players to ever play the game. That’s like comparing Bobby Orr and Drew Doughty, they don’t belong in the same conversation.

Exactly and Canucks dont really have anything other teams don't already have. Canucks management just dumb enough to keep piling on their own poop.

Ilya Mikheyev GP 23 6 7 13 4.75 million
Jason Dickinson GP 19 4 6 10 2.65 million

3 less points, with 4 less games played, a difference of .039 ppg, and 2.1 million dollars more, for that service.

Never mind having to take on Riley Stillman at 1.35 million and give up a 2nd.
Net loss to acquire Mikheyev, 3.45 million and a 2nd.
Keep up the good work JRPA

This is crazy or someone is a liar...

Boudreau says he has "no idea" about Brock's trade request.
