There are only 31 jobs in the league
- CanuckDon

He’s interviewed for other jobs, I just wonder what’s so great about the Canucks situation that he finds exciting. Personally I wouldn’t come to Vancouver. Bad team, bad prospect pool, bad cap situation, there’s a lot of fixin to be done before they have success.

It’s delightful how upset everyone is at management…I think they are growing on me ❤️❤️
- CanuckDon

I wasn't impressed, right from the hiring of Bozo, even less so, when he hired Ditso and Granato.

Tocchet should be ashamed of himself. Another douchebag, but what do you expect, he is a former Flyer.
He will probably sit with Ditso and Bozo tonight, then we can call them the 3 stooges.

- Reubenkincade

I can't blame him for taking the job, must be a nice little raise from his TNT gig

Potato/ patato.

Stillman for D1ckenson and a second.

Canucks gave up a third a year earlier to get JD then a year later trade the perfectly capable NHL forward and a second-round pick to get Stillman who is quite often a healthy scratch and then go trade for a center who has be a healthy scratch for games.

I can't believe anyone is defending this new groups track record with this team.

- VANTEL

This is definetly not potato/potatoe, they were dumping a contract and had to pay for it. You can’t just change the story and expect people to not point it out.

We're not the ones making these moves

Ownership and management deserve this team, outside of the cheerleaders, I doubt anyone in here supports even half the moves this team has made over the past 8-10 years so why do we deserve this?

- Nucker101

That was a shot at the guzzlers.

Well you aren’t telling the truth so I’ll respond. They paid a second to dump a trash player but had to take a contract back. It was effectively a second for Bear. Acting like they paid a pick to acquire Stillman is dishonest or negligent
- CanuckDon

a 2nd for Bear is still pretty bad. Canes were healthy scratching him ffs

D1ckenson has more points and more games played this year than Studnicka. End of story. But keep defendinding this sh1tshow.

Not to mention, any job in the NHL is a shot at winning in the top league in the world. Regardless of what donkeys on here say, JR can turn it around with some good moves

It was a totally unnecessary to have to dump.

When I said damage, I meant overall damage, not just referring to picks, as that is a very small aspect of what management does.
- Reubenkincade

If they get good returns for Horvat, Schenn, Hughes, Demko and Kuzmenko they could turn the fan hatred around rather quickly. They haven’t really done anything other than further mess up the cap situation, as I mentioned. Allvin’s only had minor transactions in the trade department, nothing to really see there.

Some things I believe to be true. Rutherford never wanted to retain Boudreau but Aquilini forced him to. They were completely fooled by the second half of last season and thought they’d be more competitive this year.

Unlike the other jobs, he was actually offered this one?

I suppose being an NHL coach is better than not being an NHL coach. At least for the Canucks you also get to live in Vancouver

Not to mention that Tochett's style of coaching is the complete opposite of how this team is built.

It is like trying to teach the high school chess club to change to the high school football program.

D1ckenson did fine on Dallas and is just fine on Chicago. He has more points and has played more games than his replacement Studnicka.

What you mean to say is he is one of many players that have come to this team that can't figure out their ass from their elbow and played well below their standard. That list is long. You should not confuse NHL players with players coming here and sucking.

Anyways it was another terrible trade by this clown show.

- VANTEL

I like the trade. Bear has been our best dman

And that explains why we will be a bottom three team by year end.

I bet 31 other GMs drool at the thought of Ethan Bear as their best Dman.

Like with JR/Allvin, I'll keep an open mind but just like with those other 2, I'm pretty skeptical that he's the right guy.

I agree 100%! The Canucks are a soft team of individuals. Tocchet is the ultimate team guy who prefers a heavier harder to play against group. I don’t know what he sees there. Given the fact he was in the league as a player for 20 years and then a number of years as a coach.

Maybe he knows about some future changes coming?

So, what you are saying is, Rutherford lied when he 1st got here, when he said Boudreau would have been his 1st choice and agreed with FA, when he was consulted by him, to hire Boudreau.

Also, that is a lot of ifs.
I guess if Gudbranson played better, if Glendening was good etc, Benning would have been good as well.

Seriously downgraded the bottom 6, didnt improve the defense and put all their eggs into the top 6 basket which was already this team's best strength aside from goal tending which seems debatable now. In doing this they traded away picks and prospects.

People can dress it up as much as they want but this is what has happened so far. The Richard!nson trade that required parting with a 2nd is a fail. They haven't gained enough cap space to make any difference. It's being touted as a success but they used most of it up to unsuccessfully plug the holes they created so it's nothing more than another fail.

A massive amount of cap space could have been created by dumping Boeser and keeping their 2nd plus Richard!nson instead of Studnika. It's going to cost them at the very least a 2nd if they want to move on from Boeser now... train wreck.
