This is when we see what JR's management, scouting, analytics departments are made of. There's no excuse to get less than a sizable return for Horvat & Schenn.

You'd think they've already identified what they want. The good thing here is the pressure is escalating now. Ticktoc.

You're right. Once Boudreau is gone there isn't gonna be a lot of runway before everyone turns on management and starts flying "Sell the team" banners over the city.

What a wonderful time we are living in as Canucks fans.

With the abundance of them out there, I'm not sure why the Canucks haven't managed to nab at least 4 or 5 of them already.
- manvanfan

From what I've read the Canucks want NHL ready players, they don't want a rebuild, so, Carolina has been rumored to be ok with letting Jesperi Kotkaniemi, a 22 year old NHL center, Dylan Coghlan a big, young, right shot NHL defenseman whose fallen down the lineup on a deep Hurricanes blueline and Scott Morrow and a first round pick go...a combination of those. That, a combination of, is a pretty good package for a rental in my opinion and much better than the Bruins can offer.

The cap is holding a lot up, no trades going on right now for any NHL teams.

That's not going to change the TDL, will they be forced to stand pat, or go the let them walk route?

That would be entertaining as well.

Will it be an excuse for Rutherford's actions or lack of?

Boudreau calls the fan support he’s received in Vancouver the most incredible thing on a personal level that he’s experienced in his long career — outside of winning championships. #Canucks

JR: signs Boeser/Miller/Mikheyev

JR: "It's hard to clear cap space and move out contracts!"

Media: "Yeah, he's right just ask any league insider!"

I imagine tonight will even be more tumultuous.

Has Frankie boy been spotted at any of these games lately?

Is this the best that can be got for Bo? Bidding war should be adding more prospects and futures, no?
But at least this looks more promising than some of the other so called targets.

Also it’s been said, by insiders, that Kumzmeko, largely because of cap hit can fetch a return like Horvat.

Two packages of young centers, RD and picks would be amazing rebuild returns.

Rental players just don't bring a huge return, generally speaking, it's usually this first round pick that is coveted by the teams sending away the player.

Here's a few examples I could come up with...

Marian Hossa was 28 years old and just came off a 43 goal 100 point season with Atlanta when they sent him to Pittsburgh at the TDL for forwards Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, Angelo Esposito and a first-round draft pick.

Jeff Carter was 27 years old and just came off a 36 goal season with Philadelphia the year before he was traded to Columbus, with CBJ he had 15 goals in 39 games but wanted out. The Blue Jackets got defenseman Jack Johnson and a first-round pick.

"Martin St. Louis, to New York Rangers from Tampa Bay Lightning, March 5, 2014. After playing 13 seasons for the Lightning, St. Louis was traded to the Rangers for forward Ryan Callahan and three draft picks, including two first-round picks, a blockbuster swap of team captain. St. Louis, who won the Art Ross Trophy the previous season as the leading scorer in the NHL."

Good thing the Canucks have some longer term contracts in Boeser and Miller to trade away as well

Those were all great signings, especially Mikheyev, he has helped the team move the needle, so much more than Dickinson.
