Weren't the Canucks great in the 2nd half last season? Looking at what a team did last season, and comparing it to the next season, is how you become the Canucks.
- Reubenkincade

Small difference, the Oilers have two of the best players in the world and they also went to the third round of the playoffs. The Canucks...well, were propped up with an emotional boost from a coaching change and goaltending. It was clear to most knowledgable fans, but some needed further convincing, and here we are.

The Oilers still need better depth and defense but they're in a much better position than the current state of the Canucks. At this point I'd take an entertaining 104 point team with some playoff success than the bullshit the Canucks are trying to sell their fanbase.

WTF is this? That’s a lot of words to say exactly what’s already been said a thousand times now. I mourn the loss of true sports journalism.
- bloatedmosquito

True, but it rings more true with the Aquilini family if it's in the national media than a bunch of knuckleheads chatting about it on HB.

So, the Canucks get blemishes covered up by goaltending, but the Oilers get covered up by 2 of the best players in the world.

Fuck the Oilers.

I can cheer for 30 other teams, before ever cheering for that team.

True, but I thought I'd share on here so everyone got a chance to further direct their anger towards current ownership.

Only Lordy is cheering for them. I'm just giving my opinion why they'll most likely have some success as opposed to the Canucks. They're just a better "team" with better players.

Boston has depth and a solid top 4 with Lindholm for full year now. Clearly many teams right now don't have that but if they were to add Horvat. I don't know how many teams feel they are close to Boston but adding Horvat would go a long way to closing that gap.

They don't have the required assets to pull it off imo. NJ and Carolina do, though.

Ok, it’s a recap of what the public has witnessed. I get that, but the title of the article suggests something more. “a symptom of deep Canucks dysfunction” would suggest that he was going to share some inside information on “deep Canucks dysfunction” but didn’t offer anything of substance. Just so fluffy.

That's because you aren't listening to what they want in return.

As I said a few weeks ago, the Horvat deal happens around the 25th of February, when Boston plays Canucks.

It will be Frédéric, Lysell, a 1st and Harrison, for Horvat and Schenn.

Just like the coach hiring, they are holding off as long as possible.

Wonder if Tocchet will have any input or he's only going to be another b1tch?

I think it's a direct shot at the Canucks ownership, fluffy for sure, only the last part where he mentions the people who've left the organization on bad terms is important. But I'll bet money Francesco Aquilini isn't happy about the article and he's already smashed something this morning about it.

lol many fans around here I would just like to see the team have a little success and see McD and Draisaitl in the finals and get their shot. Hard to say if either player will stay with the club if they don't have another deep PO run in the next 2-3 seasons before their contracts come up. WPG is a shocker of a team this year which could win a round or two.

That's a laughable return and it's not happening. They don't have the young roster players or the assets to make it happen.
