I wanted them to sign Miller last year to a four-year contract. That would have been perfectly acceptable to pay your highest point player. GMs have got to find a way to get rid of long-term contracts, they are killing one of the most exciting parts of the NHL, the trade. The other part that is killing trades is teams cap.

I like Bo but if he is looking for term past five years then, see ya.

Agree & covid really messed up everything on top of it all. Tough times for decisions while looking ahead 2-3yrs cap wise.

Covid kicked the ass of the cap but that is in the past and the league has to figure out a way to make this exciting again.

Fans look forward to the Cup, the Draft, and to trades. The cap league wide and long-term contracts have muted the third most exciting part of the league. Five hundred plus pages right here of 20 people waking up each day hoping there is something new on the trade front backs up my statement.

Never really thought about that way but agree, one of the most exciting part of NHL hockey, is the trades.
That and fighting! Get rid of the instigator penalty. Enough of these stern look meetings every time someone gets hit hard.

Not sure where I am on this one yet. A bridge deal is fine, but also a first round pick is fine also.

If they can move Brock, I think I would be okay with two more years of him.

If the League gets rid of the stern look meetings then Canucks are fucked.

I have zero faith in this new managements drafting or trading skills. I get the wanting from everyone here and it sounds great but seeing their first year of trading and drafting makes me want to GTF out of Dodge.

If it is a gift-wrapped draft choice as in top top five, we should be okay, but we have screwed up before with high picks and this new group does not leave me with any more confidence.

well if they can't draft then we're (frank)ed anyway, you can't build a cup winner without drafting at least 1 or 2 homegrown studs

I cannot say much good about them either. Still will wait on what transpires over the next months.

I've been skeptical since day 1.

JR hire: Okay let's see who he hires to help him fix this mess

Allvin/Clancy hires: okay he's just bringing in his boys, we're (frank)ed

I do have more faith in Benning at the draft table than these guys, despite the Virtanen/OJ misses

It was pretty clear when they hired JR, and before that Bruce, there about 4 of us that were concerned.
The rest of the guzzlers were on board.😁

Yeah when they announced Allvin was GM and I had to google who he was, I knew something was up, but I wanted to stay cautiously optimistic. The last of my hope was shattered the day they signed Miller.

After it was obvious how soft our team is and its positional needs they take a fluffy winger and claim they had him at 7oa... I have less faith in their drafting as well.
