Not a knock on him, I'm sure he'll be a solid role player, and plus I just constantly bring him up as an example of the type of player they'll target. Could also say Cole Sillinger or Connor McMichael

Ya, I get what you are saying. I am fine going with players that work hard every shift. Look at the mess this team is in because they went the skill route. If a player has some skill and works hard, I am fine having a team like that.
This all offense and zero ability to play a 2 way game is terrible hockey to watch.

I agree, but that has to be an organizational mindset, from scouting/development/AHL/NHL coaching

This organization hasn't had a team that's hard to play against in over a decade. I think they (frank)ed up bad with JR, he's not the guy who's going to make the the changes necessary.

You need skill to win, all the great teams had a combination of both. The first thing an NHL management group has to do is decide on what type of team they want to build. Then start building from there. All kinds of different teams have won a Stanley Cup, but if you just wing-it with BPA it doesn’t work imo.

Of course they (frank)ed up: Aquilini wanted a retool. Again. JR wasn’t coming in for a rebuild and anyone that thought/ thinks that is a delusional drug addict

get your popcorn ready then Donny, because the Canucks want to make the playoffs next season and they'll be trying without Horvat so expect some more stupid moves to happen since they're going to be trying to replace him

I honestly think there's higher odds of making the playoffs than catching those two. Hawks haven't even dumped Kane/Murphy yet.

Gibson and Mrazek are two of the worst goalies I've seen this year and Canucks are getting Demko back, even off year Demko is better than those two.

Hopefully JR’s dementia kicks in and he goes for a wander and can’t find his way back to his office. This dude has lost his goddamn mind

Ownership wants playoffs and management will only stay employed so long as the moves they make are to try and reach that goal. Being bad is one thing, but being bad on purpose is a no no. At least for FA it is.

If we can ship out Horvat and Schenn early enough and maybe a few more players, I think we can have big enough losing streaks to make a run for it. we only need them to win 7 more games than us over the next half of the season.

They should shut Demmer down for the year. That's all we need is his issues to be resolved and he starts playing lights out bubble style.

We seem to have hit a good stride with Delia & Martin (last night exception) where it's largely entertaining while piling up the losses ... lots of scoring anyway!

JR has zero respect for Bruce. He's openly admitting this while Bruce is still his coach. Wow

I don't think you've watched either of those teams play much. The Hawks made the Sharks look like SC contenders a couple of weeks ago. They were dominating them, could've been like a 9-2 game if not for a couple of posts/saves

"We are not looking toward a rebuild it's more of a retool. Looking at acquiring younger NHL guys vs draft picks that will help in 4-5 years. We have to go about it in a way that's not a long term rebuild"

By no means am I a Bruce fan, but I hope he turns around and quits about 20 minutes before the next game.

JR said that they'll target young players who "didn't work out while on their ELC contracts"

so they're literally looking for young players that have failed to live up to expectations

"I'd prefer to get younger NHL players that maybe didn't work out in their entry level contract and, you know, bring them in and give them a second chance."
