Lose your livelihood/career you worked for your whole life or your sport/recreation/travel plans or get the shot.... is not choice. People can't afford that leaving them no choice. A huge percentage got shots because financially they had no choice. (Not a vaccine, basically a flu shot) What vaccine requires yearly boosters ..... and doesn't even stop transmission.

This is where I went with this also. Like I said it is a personal choice, but your post does sum up how I feel especially the highlighted part.

I think the discussion in here is more helpful than harmful. Seeing both sides of the opinions make most posters aware of pros and cons. The mudslinging isn't necessary, but this is HB and we are all use to a little early morning hate.

If there was a trade that brought him here with one of our available forwards, i'd do it. Laf getting 1LW with EP here and PP1 would probably put him in the 70+ pts category. Something he won't get in NY. Last year he scored the majority of his 19 goals at 5v5 with 3rd line minutes.
- Retinalz

If only NYR had a big crappy contract they needed to offload, I could see them being a partner.

It looks like they made an even more amazing choice signing Trotchek over giving up assets for Miller now!

Yeah see I'd take it a step further. I think he's more like a 7 or 8 ... probably 2 injuries away on a non-vancouver team. He makes a 'just ok' play most of the time, so he looks incredible out there on Vancouver. I think most teams with more mobile and outlet focused d-men are only putting him in during desperate times. Just my opinion. I liked him more early in the year but the more I watch him, the more it screams how bad this D core is.
- Sayros

Hughes is on an island being able to breakout or skate out of the D zone.
Schenn is easily our most physical & pretty steady on D.
Bear has done ok but depends on who his partner is.
OEL has lost his shine from knee injuries & @7.2m per needs a top 3 partner. Not good.
Dermott needs a bigger sample size before a decision to resign him.
The rest are so inconsistent & limited in skills it’s a revolving door.

Summary: 2 top 4 D short & need better play from the 3rd pairing. That is a huge ask & sad state. Myers is a waste of 6m. The plugs are placeholders.

His most common line last season with Kreider-Zibanejad-Laf but he did play a lot with Chytil as well so those were his 3 most common linemates

This season he's played mostly on two lines
Kakko-Chytil-Laf
Panarin - Trocheck - Laf

- Nucker101

Rangers fans say he plays better as a LW than RW. Which could be why they want a proper RW

Agree,
I got the 1 shot j&j in Idaho so I can travel, nothing since. So it was my choice sort of but not really.

I appreciate you being able to have a civil conversation about it... that is a skill many don't have. Agree with this point as well.

Focusing on negatives is what most do.
- Bettmanhatesus

One poster certainly does 😂

Ppl in general only see the bad & either ignore or don’t see the positives. There isn’t many of the latter but it’s there.

Earlier a post referred to some fans believe this roster is only 2-3 players away from being a PO team or more. I’m in that crowd. It’s about 2-3 good players that impact in a big way. Not just 2-3 out & 2-3 in. Those are on D being 2 top 4. On the F’s there is always a revolving door on the design. It will never be known how good they are or are not through these trials & tribulations when the D is such a mess & league bottom.

True, the value is there.

I just have a few memories in my head of his long pivot or turnaround and then just getting roasted to the outside.

- Sayros

He has his warts for sure but overall still great value. If in net was better he’d look even better.

Yeah I guess he's on a mission to make this place truly unbearable to be in. I only drop by occasionally now but I might stop altogether if this is all this blog is now, there's no substance to it.

I hearya & the blatant use of posting non hockey topics all the time never had a place in here.

I noticed that happens more during 3rd periods or back-to-back games, I think he'd play a lot better with lower usage. He uses a lot of energy on most shifts with the way he plays, and he's no longer a spring chicken.
- Nucker101

Schenn has reinvented himself & wearing it on the front of the jersey not the back. His passion & leadership is unquestionable. He’s a leader but some are not following. I single out Myers & Boeser who get the bigger contracts but don’t give value or the other details that matter.

Rags suck at development. Forcing Laf onto his off wing cuz blocked by older vets in Panarin & Kreider is devaluing him & stagnating his progress. He’s not an elite skater nor has the power game many envisioned. He can use a change of scenery where he would not be hog tied & probably blossom.

You know I’m having a hard time following who it is you don’t like.
I know Tyler personally, don’t think he’s having fun playing in Vancouver right now. Maybe a change would be good for him but more importantly you!

Kelowna Schenn better than Kelowna Myers. Myers is paid 6m to play not have fun. I don’t see him standing out as 1 of the top paid players on the Canucks. He’s part of the problem not the solution. 3rd pairing in the Peg gets a big 5yr contract he’s never earned nor given back value. When he & some others are gone we will begin to have a chance to get better not sooner.
