Unless it’s right after a TV timeout, it’s the C on the ice directing traffic, the coaches have no influence, other than what they work on in practice. It’s possible that the team is coached to do that, I have no idea as I’m not at practice.
- 1970vintage

Well, Yeo should be in charge of positioning in the D zone including where to line up. The C should be having them in the proper position as Yeo directs in practice. So either Yeo is to blame, the C is to blame or Miller's ego is to blame. If it happens regularly, it is Yeo. If it is one offs, Millers ego.

One year of change. Checks lineup, no real change…

I remember that. It's not the first time he's bossing teammates around.
I hope Schenn pummels him in front of the home crowd.
And they're choosing to 'retool' around him.

- Marwood

Pretty sure when Schenn blew up on him it was because of this type of poop. Only 7.5 more seasons of this guy. Should be ready to compete in 10 years.

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. If the coaches are teaching the players schemes to attack from the defensive zone face off that are ending up in their own net then that’s a coaching error, but during a game it’s the C (or guy taking the draw) that’s directing traffic. So if Miller wanted certain guys in certain places that’s on him.

Pouty was taking faceoff, and lost it cleanly.

IN Reub's post, Miller was a winger (lined up in front of nobody, if he was the Centre its no wonder they won it clean) so he wasn't directing traffic. Although minor adjustments are made during a game at players discretion, they should be doing most things as coaches draw it up. So theoretically, the centre should be directing Miller to line up where Yeo said he wants him. If the Centre is changing things and this poop is happening, coaches need to stop that right away. So again, it is on the coaches.

No. 2-3 players moved. Get rid of contracts for starters & what comes back is the most important part.

Miller is far from what the big problem is. One player doesn’t drag this mess down. Goes far deeper. Sure we expect more from him but the immediate other changes needed are priority.

This highlighlight package shows the goal, at the 4 minute mark, but doesn't show the players shuffling around on the faceoff circle, like Biron showed it.

It is easier to talk about moving players and salary than it is to do it. Horvat, Kuzmenko and Schenn are the only ones that are easy to move. Boeser has value, but finding a trade partner will not be easy, same with Miller and Garland. There is only so much cap to go around and it will not see a giant increase until the NHLPA pays the owners back.

Demko is best to keep IMO, we just need to get a future starter in the pipeline and backing him up by year 3 of his contract.

Pearson is as untradeable as OEL, luckily he only has 1 year left.

Garland I keep. No matter what anyone thinks of him, he is an ideal 3RW who generally produces like a 2RW.

The rest I agree with, Stillman we are better off just burying in Abby, Burroughs we probably need to keep depending on returns. Myers likely untradeable until his bonus is paid. Boeser is likely an off season deal if at all.

Speaking of this, one of the insiders mentioned that several owners are pushing for a bigger cap, as they are losing too many players, due to not being able to re-sign them.

Miller is going nowhere we know this. For good or bad he stays. He needs a reset next season after changes.

Resigning Bo makes sense only if other players are moved. I single out Garland this TDL if possible.

Boeser is an offseason trade if possible.

Kuz & Schenn are traded if Mgmt wants a return to start a retool in getting picks for long term reasons.

Yes the escrow is still owed but should end in a year probably but that’s too far ahead of what is needed asap.

Cap out for cap in is needed for most trades but comes down to taking on short term. That’ll most likely be for PO or cup pushes from any suitor.

Still imo trades are more likely closer to the TDL given as you’ve said cap is tight everywhere & prorated contracts become easier fits.

If true I’d guess the bigger market teams are heavily involved. If they get more other GM’s on board it could happen.

Wonder what the NHLPA’s position is on this?

On Garland…

His point production isn’t my issue nor his feistiness. It’s if we can get back value to start changing the roster for what is needed done. I’d like him to be more dangerous & finish better. He has it in him.

NYR can use a RW.

Since last season, Miller's ego has been in overdrive. He seems to think he knows better than everyone else including coaches.

It was said that it was the big market teams.

I am sure if the escrow disappeared, the PA wouldn't have any issue with it.
