Fair, haven’t watched a Nashville game in a while.

I guess you could trade OEL for future considerations, or an expiring contract IF you retained about $3m.

There’s probably a team who’s would take him at $4m for 4 more years.

I agree. Why would it take them over a year to figure out this team needs major changes instead of tweaks to hopefully get into the playoffs. If they are that unaware of why Benning got fired and need a year plus to realize this themselves, they are incompetent.

Instead their approach reads like this... "maybe Benning didnt do such a bad job, let's not (frank) up what he built and try to keep on track".

Well Rutherford,,,,

Yup, he and Allvin have done a lot of stupid poop so far

1) Doesn't get full clarity on nature of Boudreau's contract before taking Prez job

2) Gets hired and says he'll conduct an expansive search to find best GM candidate

3) His former head scout in Pitt just happens to be the best guy for the job, crazy coincidence

4) Doesn't really make any bold moves at TDL, essentially trades Hamonic for Dermott and Motte for a 4th.

5) After season JR says team didn't play too well despite their record under Boudreau, relied too heavily on Demko. Says the goal is to supplement the team with young roster players. Also said defense needs to be improved

6) Exercises team option on Boudreau's mutual contract option

7) Drafts skilled undersized winger with first round pick

8) Spends majority of UFA money on a winger. Extends Miller to 7 year deal that kicks in when he's 30 years old.

9) Trades away 2nd + D1ickinson to for Stillman, opening up space to to allow the trade for a 5th for Bear. Trades away dman prospect for Studnicka.

10) Publicly criticizes Boudreau multiple times

Bonus Point: Doerrie mess

Not sure what exactly has improved with this new management other than better public speaking skills and cute new female AGM for Vantel/VHG to drool over

But we know now that OEL isn’t a “capable” top 4 defender, while McDonagh was coming off three time cup final top 4 defender.

Not the same situations. Nashville took advantage of a team needing cap space to get a good player for nothing. OEL isn’t a good player.

I just looked at CF. I don’t think he’s tradable for two more years. He’s owed $10.5m in real salary next year and $8 the year after with no bonus money you could absorb. Salary drops to the $5 range the final two seasons. He’s here until they end unless they buy him out.
- 1970vintage

Ya, it is never a good situation when you are looking at having to buyout a contract, that has 54-7 years remaining on it.
Try not to get to depressed when you do the buyout of Miller

Michkov slowly moving out of top 5, likely due to his KHL contract status? Cameron Allen slowly moving out of top 5 on lists as well. Very interesting.

I'm not so sure McDonagh is either unless he is playing with a guy named Josi.

If Nashville took advantage that would mean that the value should be higher.

OEL most likely wouldn't be as bad on a team that could defend as a unit or at all.

I’m not really a fan of buyouts. If you tore this team down and were left with:

Myers, OEL, Miller, Pearson, Boeser, Garland, Mikheyev and Stillman

Because nobody would trade for them, or they have NTC/NMC and then filled out the rest of the roster with AHL callups and reclamation projects you would likely be pretty bad. Then maybe those NTC guys would be begging to get out.

Is this the new blog? If not no worries.

Canuck state of affairs is sad. Win streaks are bandaids. No solution because ownership, management, scouting all sucks. Besides that players have no value. Might as well find another team to follow.

Are you talking the mental health female dog that is doing the talk show circuit looking for public sympathy?

Looks like she found at least one bleeding heart.

OEL had been declining for two years before being acquired. It’s just not a good comparison. I’m sure you can find a better one. What did NJ pay for PK?

That's a pretty rough way to talk about someone you don't know. I don't really have an opinion on the whole thing but calling her a female dog seems like a massive jump to conclusions.

If you guys want to fall for her gimmick, be my guest. Trust me I had massive conclusions about her long before she got fired. I thought the hiring was a joke right from the get-go, so this is not piling on.

Wait until it comes out, she was fired for being the leak to the media, along with her other incompetent work habits.

Again, I don't really have an opinion on the whole thing because there isn't enough information publicly available.

I'd say it's the lack of results in the KHL. He's doing well in the VHL but that league is far below the KHL.

Defence is in such high demand. So many forwards are always projected to be better than defenders but I can see many more defenders be taken much higher than in past years.

With Canuck luck in this scenario this new team would become a playoff bubble team.
