8-3 Pittsburgh. Luke Schenn gets fed up in the 2nd intermission, goes to the concourse and buys a Penguins jersey, and goes and sits on their bench for the 3rd

Tortorella likes JT, from their time in New York, makes for a good fit.

Two peas in a pod those guys are. Miller also from the area would be close to home. This needs to happen.

If Flyers send their 1st for JTM that would be amazing.

I'd do something around JT for Prov if it were possible

Rutherford/Allvin clearly over their heads. Lots of teams have cap problems, At least we know why these clowns are in hiding

7-5 Canucks, Boeser with 5 points, Matt Murray has a nightmare after seeing the highlights.
- 1970vintage

Maybe they can trade Boeser to Pens…? Oh well. Damn cap room it’s always the issue.

It truly is, just like the state of the team when Benning took over was Gillis's fault. How long do we give the new management to fix things before we turn on them? Some people already have with the JTM situation. Personally I don't. You have a player who put up 99 pts, who BB loves. BB was FA's man and I would bet BB was in FA's ear saying we need to keep him. JTM gets re-signed as a result. They screwed up with Bo, which I blame them for. Before the season, they probably could have signed him for 7m a season. But realistically, we need to reset and trading him is he best idea to do this.

I give Management until next off season to see what they do. Pearson and Myers contracts are off the books, and we will have additional space even after extending EP. If they want to try and continue to compete, they could try and make the following trades work:

JTM + for Provorov + (+ to make it work on both sides, I don't think an even swap works here)

Bo for Fabbro + 2023 1st + 2023 2nd

Schenn for 2023 2nd

Myers for w/e we get. Apparently he has positive value around the league? I think he does after July 1st and his 5m bonus is paid.

Yeah that works too though draft picks are precious. At this point it’s all about the cap space. Trade possibilities are more than a month away. Don’t expect much on Canucks selling hard.

I think doing something like JTM for Prov and Bo for Fabbro + 2023 1st and a 2nd is the only way we get picks. FA refuses to rebuild, but these two trades help fix our top 4 D. Creates a log jam so Schenn needs to go. then you decide to keep Bear and trade Myers or keep Myers and trade Bear.

Prov - Hughes
OEL - Fabbro
Dermott - Myers/Bear

I think so too, and a good return. COuld JTM for Prov work with other moving parts though?

You think JTM has that much more value?

Maybe JTM + Rathbone for Prov + Frost or Foerster?

Vancouver doesn't play MTL again this year, so scouts would be looking at potential trade targets.

I am hoping the scouts are watching the Krake, to learn what types of players are needed to build a team that plays functional.

We don't play Seattle until the 25th, so It wouldn't make sense to scout them yet as we have other teams to scout ahead of that. Maybe Seattle is interested in some of our players? I wonder if Wright could be had.

Least effective pairing in the NHL.

Using @TheAthleticNHL’s player cards I went about ranking 77 NHL defense pairs (minimum 245 5-on-5 minutes) based on surplus value provided this season.

The OEL-Myers pair ranked 77th out of 77.

On Vancouver’s over-priced, underperforming blue line: theathletic.com/4075669/2023/0…
