Whatever is between the {quote=username]

Now, when ASL post a chapter of Moby Dick go on and include all the text. The length of those posts is is the important part…

It's a great book. Hopefully he moves on to "War and Peace" or "The Rosy Crucifixion" afterwards.

How about something more contemporary like "The Lord of the Rings" or "Song of Ice and Fire"?

I haven’t actually finished it. I was reading it for two years or so, just couldn’t manage to stay awake whenever I picked it up.

I am down for some Alexander Dumas though.

Orr had every single tool the game required. While Gretz had the vision, Lemieux the skill, Howe the power, OV the Scoring and Crosby the 200' game Orr is the only one who had it all. Period.

He is one of the greatest players of all time but he didn’t have it “all”. Orr didn’t have longevity. He didn’t have health. He only played something like 650 games and his last three seasons in the NHL were pathetic (sad way for a legend to go out). All the greatest players have 800+ more games than him.

I have the same disagreement with Lefty. He’s team Mario and I’m team Gretzky. One of Gretzky’s greatest achievements was his longevity and consistency. The NHL is a tough league and the ability to withstand the grind is a part of what makes one a legend.

Made me laugh only because he’s a major part of an awesome sense in Django Unchained.

Orr had 6 seasons of 101-135pts in a row. Then knee surgery old school style that ended every athletes career. Shortly after was arthroscopic instead of cartilage removal. Great is great & never will there be a D like the GOAT.

Which makes what he did even more impressive. GOAT. No exception. Saying Gretzky was the GOAT because he had the most points is like saying Micheal Jackson was the greatest musician of all time because he sold the most records. Read between the lines. It's Orr. Period. Orr may have been in his prime a shorter period but it makes him no less of a legend. Gretz never had the the complete game Orr had. None did. Except maybe Crosby. Bossy has more PPG than them all and never gets mentioned but he was neither a complete player like Orr was.

He's a film genius but Django is not his best. Close but Inglorious Basterds takes it I think. A culmination of all his efforts there isn't a wary part in the film. Jackie Brown probably a close second.

As I said, one of the greats.

But he didn’t have it all in my opinion. I don’t think he’s in my top three.

Mario Lemieux had 172 points in 107 playoff games, Orr had 92 points in 74 games, considering how well he (Orr) could skate compared to the rest of the league in the 60’s and 70’s I would’ve thought he dominated more than he already did.

Mario Lemieux dominated the game to an even greater level than Bobby Orr because he had to deal with players who could skate much better than in Orr’s era and he had to deal with a lot more clutching and grabbing as well as better goaltending.

Mario Lemieux is undoubtedly the greatest and most talented player ever….PERIOD!!!

Coffey had more, for longer, yet no one bothers to mention him considering he played for nearly 20 years. Points are meaningless and eras matter. For me, the GOAT goes Gretzky, and my Mount Rushmore of hockey is Gretzky, Lemieux, OV and Howe.
Honerable mentions go to Crosby, Lidstrom and Bossy

Lemieux never fought nor hit. Never had to kill penalties much at all. Didn’t have to block shots. Didn’t play in the roughest era & it was also clutch & grab. Lemieux was the best & biggest strongest F ever. Nobody touches Gretzky’s playmaking but Oates was pretty good. Forsberg the best at beast mode. I could go on…
