That won't work, they need at least 2 good D-men that aren't UFA or waiver scraps.

I think they will continue to struggle to find a trade partner unless they overpay.

I watched a lot of the games in the WJC, the cameras zoomed in on many teams GMs and scouts, not once did I see a Canucks representative in attendance.

You would think that a team that is trying to get younger, would have a major presence, whether it is scouting the undrafted, or evaluating the drafted talent from other teams, in case you can manage to get one or 2 of those players.

Yup, plus I think JR still doesn't know which path to take with this squad.
- VanHockeyGuy

It's day by day. Whoever plays well the game before

To me, signing Miller they chose their path. Unless someone gives them a good out on that path. I imagine that's how it is going to go.

I'm fine with any path as long as they actually go about fixing the problems.

Good defensemen are overrated.

Said it before, this management group's MO is to hide in the shadows.

That path has created a huge problem which I'm sure they didn't expect. I hope the Horvat camp makes them pay for that.

I don't worry too much about the Miller contract, it should be expiring just in time for this team to start being a contender. His leadership will be needed during those years.

Trade Horvat and go from there. I don't care if the team has only Petey as a top 9 center anymore if Miller continues on his wing. 5.5M in cap space.

Continue to draft and develop, sign someone long term or short term whatever is available and best fit for the time being.

I believe that is what most are concerned about. Wins are always nice, but not necessarily what is desired.

Either way keeping both might be a problem. If we are out of the WC hunt then trade both Miller and Bo for big assets and build around Pettersson/Hughes.

I just thought it was odd, because TSN usually zooms in on any Canadian teams representatives, whether it be at WJC, the U-18s or the World championships.

I would imagine Todd Harvey and a few other amateur scouts were there live. It would be irresponsible not to be.

an uncomfortable team meeting that was like an intervention with Boudreau singling out several players for criticism. He also blamed himself for not getting them ready to play.

I'm alright with drafting 10oa but only if they are also drafting 20 something as well.

I am jealous of Habs currently having 2 top 10 picks. They will win 1 of the lottery spots with the Florida pick.
