Agreed.
Even the bad teams have a good work ethic.

A bit odd. One trait of an athlete that makes the pros is that they don't like to lose, so the effort level is higher than others.

Skill yes but the effort they had to put in to get to where they are. Where is that on the Canucks amongst most. It's also something that doesn't just go away either.

Has the environment surrounding the Canucks killed off any sort of effort the team is willing to put forth.

The owner doesn't want to win so why should the team?

#Bills S Damar Hamlin opened his eyes last night and is responsive. Truly incredible. One thing that's very clear from speaking to those close to him: They are endlessly appreciative of the medical care given to Hamlin on the field immediately, then over the last 72 hours.

“So where will Bedard fit into this list?

Currently I predict I would put her somewhere around #3….

What are your thoughts?”

Currently, he reminds me of Matt Barzal, who is an underrated star in the NHL. He very well could end up as a Crosby type player.

1. McDavid
2. Matthews
3. MacKinnon
4. Draisaitl
5. Crosby
Bedard
6. Kucherov
7. Ovechkin
8. Kaprisov
9. Marner
10. Pastrnak

Hard list to compare because this is a current list and I mean Crosby and Ovi are extreme talents well past their primes.

Some of the list have multiple cups, others can't make it out of the first round.

He is far better than Barzal who is a truly overrated player. His game against Van may have been his best game yet. A very unremarkable career. I think Bedard will fall in between Crosby and Macjesus, health permitting

I wasn't basing my thoughts on 1 game against Vancouver.

That list is wrong anyways, as Crosby throughout his career should be at the top of the list, and I don't even like Crosby, but he has been excellent throughout his career, as has Ovie

The list only has forwards. Why? Are dmen and goalies not stars?

Is it ten best players right now? Is Crosby still one of the ten best? You’d think Makar would be on that list, unless it’s forwards only, then why isn’t Pettersson there…

I think we can all agree, spelling/gramar aside, it was a stupid list.

No, goalies are not stars. They are freaks that come and go. Demko doesn’t even belong in the league anymore. Weak minded weirdos

I’ve 2 thoughts on that…

Biggest problem is roster design.
2nd is very fragile at home. It doesn’t take much for a game to go sideways. Seems any mistake is a huge blunder & in the net.

My solution is but maybe too late is set lines & give it longer stretches. After a win there is no change then after a loss a blender. Continuity should be the aim & the C in charge of his line.

Comparing D vs F is different

How about a since 2003-04 list

Crosby
McDavid
Ovi
Malkin
Kane
Matthews
Draisital
Stamkos
Kucherov
McKinnon

Where would Bedard fit in that list?

Seravalli on Canucks re-signing Miller over Horvat:

I think it has thrown off their entire year. I think there's enough players in that room sitting there and going "really that's the pecking order?"

(Halford & Brough)

99 points to 52 points, I'd re-sign the guy who had 99 points first as well.
