Fresh trout fillet for dinner from the pair of 25 inchers we caught this morning. One fillet is 3 or 4 servings. These are cookie cutter/ most common size out of this lake at the end of our road and the best tasting lake fish in the 100 Mile house region. Delicious. Too bad this lake is only worth fishing in the winter through the ice... some damn huge ass fish in there and they are jaw locked in the ice free season for some reason.

Fillet is in the broiler right now.

We will eat one fresh fillet and the ones we freeze will go in the smoker once we have enough to fill it which will be soon with these size fish.

(frank) ya turned out incredible.

I don't eat summer trout. Taste way better in the winter when they are not eating thousands of bugs a day that matured in the muck.(chironomids)

Nice to hear you finally caught something without having to pay a guide.

Enjoy.

Great win for the 🇨🇦 boys. They were badly outplayed in the first but started to find their game in the second. Goaltending kinda saved their ass, if we’re being honest here.

I just got finished having a chat with one of my teammates from when I played in Illinois. Apparently the win was tainted by some bullshit Reffing.

first goal they called back probably should’ve counted but the second one you can’t push the goaltender and the puck into the net.

Havent hired a guide in 12 years and that was in a foreign country...probably catch near a thousand or more fish a year depending...

I'll tip my hat to you when you catch a fish legally Mr. Snaggerman.

Found a pic of you when you were younger. I imagine you were picked on a lot even though you went to a born again school.

After seeing many replay's of the disallowed goal during the intermission. Still think they got it wrong.

Demko also feels it was a horrible call

- manvanfan

Demkos American of course it’s the worst call he’s ever seen lol, I thought it should be a goal though. Second one no.

A typical day during the chironomid fishing I catch between 15 and 25 fish in a day and fish 40-60 days on the trout lakes from April to late July. I get hot days where I catch upwards of 50... 78 is my record. Rarely get skunked but it can happen pre/post hatch time or when poop weather shows up. Then you have your salmon season and ice fishing season plus the trout rivers during the Stonefly hatches where it's a machine gun bite as well.

I guess you never seen a magnificent trout lake when the chironomids are hatching and its just one grab after another until you arms are sore. It's quite the experience. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing the first time after moving up here as well. There are hundreds of lakes like that in the interior. Finding the fish and the hatches are not the hard part, getting dialed in is. It's pretty easy after that.

There are lakes here that are infested with trout. I've had 30+ fish days, but I prefer the challenge. I get bored releasing trout after trout. I prefer quality over quantity. The challenge.
