Keep in mind Rutherford traded Pearson for Gudbrandson, and Hagelin for Pearson. He trades for the same type of trades that everyone here hates. Look at his track record of trades since he has been with Canucks.

His signings are also the type most here don't like. The Canucks have hired Benning 2.0

True but a cup run with Sid & Geno around paints a lil different picture.

I don't think there are many fans left that don't agree, this team needs a major overhaul, unfortunately, some of the players are difficult to move, so they need to move the easier ones like Bo, Schenn, Kuzmenko and Pouty.
I would add Hughes, but he may need some type of sweetening added.

- Reubenkincade

It's becoming more and more apparent to even the hardcore "never rebuild" fans. The group just isn't good together despite some real talent among them. They don't work well together.

Luckily Horvat's contract is coming to an end and he's having a great season on top of the one he had last year. They need the assets they're going to get from him. Even if they're not impactful right away, they need to turn in a new direction. Most of these trades don't really bring back enormous windfalls for the team trading the best player, just gotta hope they use the first round pick wisely. If they get one?

Canucks got rid of one problem and hired his twin.

If there ever was an award for shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic, it would be our trophy year after year.

Both Bonino and Sutter.

Simply a poorly designed roster. Mostly inherited & in the hardest of times in the cap world. No choice but to make major changes cuz it’s going nowhere in a hurry.

Could be a lot of disappointed fans, if they don't get a 1st round pick added, preferably this season, but next year would be okay.

Build around EP, QH and Demko. Do whatever you have to do with the rest.
- neem55

I’d definitely trade Demko if he still has value. But I also don’t want to keep anyone other than Schenn and Martin lol

Probably why he's sitting on the fence it's safer that way.

Pretty much lol

I’m still reserving judgement til dominoes fall. No choice but to be patient. Cross our fingers it’s the beginning of the end for this group. I won’t worry on returns but will worry if no action before the TDL.

Singular players completely have an impact on the team, that said, as you already know, it's really important to have balanced primary scoring as well as secondary scoring and why it's important to have offensive contributions from your bottom six guys and your "D" core. Your best guys need help.

Connor McDavid has 73 points in 39 games this year, unbelievable really, you don't think he has a singular impact on the Oilers? Without him, even with Draisaitl, that team would be a bottom third of the league. They're garbage!!

- DraftandDestroy

I understand what you are saying, I was just pointing out that you kept pumping one player's tires while preaching it takes a team effort to win. I think what you meant to say is that it takes an elite player and a team effort in order to win.

Is he our top D prospect or that guy Minny didn’t bother signing?
- Nucker101

Probably pretty close to each other.

Projection wise I'd give D-Petey the slight advantage. Meaning if Johansson is a 5 than D-Petey might be a 4/5

I don't know if anyone heard Bear after the game last night, but he again took a swing at the team. He said when he was with Carolina the team was prepared at the start of the games, not like it is here.

I think that he wants to say something more but is muzzled, but there is something definitely going on behind closed doors.

10 of the 23 man roster, was brought in by this group, so sure, I guess it is mostly inherited, but just barely a majority of the current roster was inherited.

I think he meant it takes more than a superstar & total buy in by all & the GM supplies the pieces.

NYI isn’t anything special but coached to play hard every shift & win the old fashioned way which has never been a poor strategy.

When he coughed up the puck last night, you could tell he was pissed at Brock, who just stood around, while he was being pressured, providing no outlet pass, other than what he ended making.
I feel bad for a couple of these guys who are working hard and trying to do the right things, but get zero support from their terrible teammates.

Schenn will be like 40+ by the time this team is good again

I’ll single out a few players…

Brock floats & is lost out there.
Myers is dumb & plays soft.
Miller has lost his spirit & tenacity.

That’s enough to sink a team on most nights when not ALL pulling together.

The break outs are sad & the passing seals the deal.

Apparently the team had a "physical practice" today, so it seems they're going to take it to Colorado Thursday.

I know. I’ve been sceptical since day one, especially after he hired Allvin

Canucks hired the one guy who Benning won a trade against

I thought at the start of the season there would be a lot better results. This roster has individual players with talent and should not be consistently falling below the poverty line.

Seeing the same results again this year I came to the conclusion that the issues are not only on the ice but off the ice as well.

It is time to blow this fucker up.

I read a post on HF that said Brock called for the puck? That can’t be right because he was out of position for the pass and standing still
