Saravelli suggesting Caps and Bruins.

I don’t want Lys0l or Beecher as centrepieces of deals for a player as good as Horvat so no to Boston

- Nucker101

Agreed. Not sure Bruins are a fit, although I do like Brett Harrison

Although a very good player over the past year and a half, Horvat’s not a play driver, which is important for a center who wants to be paid big bucks. He may end up getting a great contract offer, from a lesser team who struggles to attract talent, but he’s not an 8-10 million dollar player in my opinion. Trading him is the best and only good option for the Canucks.

So if you win a face off you don't drive the play just start it? If you win a puck battle you don't drive the play?

So NYI is trading for a 3C? LOL
- Nighthawk

Bo has a higher PPG than any player on the Islanders. He has taken more face-offs than anyone on the Islanders.

Yeah I guess they are trading for a 3LC

Bergeron- Krejci- Horvat- Coyle would be insane.

I wanted Curtis Hall and Boston took him a round before I wanted him. He looked good for one year in College and made the USA WJ team and since then

No point, team is gonna suck for awhile.... May as well ride it out. These short term moves are what has the team where it is. We have no youth to replace them in the lineup.
- SMP8719

Personally, I would rather see a few Jayson Megna types, rather than having to watch Boeser.

I really don't think they know what they're doing beside hiding in the shadows.

There had to be some kind of a performance review after a year. Are they better off today?

Their prospect pool is better suited for a Schenn trade

The only team that will pay him more than Vans offer are teams he won’t want to play for. Contenders/ desirable cities aren’t paying him $8MM plus
- CanuckDon

That’s how I feel about him. I mean, obviously he’s a very talented player. But for me. He just not worth 8+ million dollars.

Chesley, Lappierre or McMichael and 1st.
- manvanfan

I think Iorio is more what we want than Chelsey, and he is doing pretty good in his first AHL season

I think people are taking his goal scoring ability a bit for granted. It’s no longer just a hot streak, just look at his last 82 games or even his last 100 and average it out over a full season.

Drance mentioned that Horvat had become recently obsessed with trying to find the best stick that works for his ability to shoot. I know a lot of goals have been tip-ins but he’s also a lethal finisher from the slot now.

I do think he needs playdriving winger with him to help his line maintain puck possession but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he scored another 35+ goals again next year either in Vancouver or on his new team.

All they being said, you have to trade him. It’s best for him and the team, a win-win situation if the right deal is made.

Awesome, if true!

Elliotte on Canucks dressing room:

Those players know there's a lot of people going and the team won't be the same...I think these players just want it to end. I saw a team that last night that was like just let us know where we're going.

Most likely yes. Hard to win a trade when you’re giving up the best player.

But this team can’t be afraid to lose a trade. That’s how you get stuck with Boeser and Miller contracts.

Not sure if Friedman has watched many Canucks games because that felt no different than most of their losses in October/November

They’re just a fragile team

That’s true of every player in the league, you just don’t have your best stuff every night or you don’t get the bounces, whatever. It’s unrealistic for even the greatest of the great like McDavid to dominate every game. Hockeys a team game.
- DraftandDestroy

Cool, carry on about the same one player and his singular impact on the group.

I would hold the younger player who has had a bit more pedigree throughout his career in higher regard but that's just me.

It’s far too risky! It’s awfully convenient that he is having his career year (by a mile) when he wants to be paid. Shocker

It’s his age and this franchise’s situation that don’t align. Otherwise I’d be okay with signing him for sure.
