From this board and all the rumours of cost. I'd say at least 10 first round picks are going to be shipped out this year in a very good draft.

Hopefully the Canucks can get at least 1 of those 1st round picks. I am somewhat doubtful that this group is looking at picks though.

Looking back at last night's game, it is obvious these guys do not play for each other. On at least 2 of the 3 goals that were a result of defensemen turnovers, there was little, if any puck support.
On the brutal Bear giveaway, there was 1 player, not sure if it was Brock or Garland, that was fairly stationary in the defensive zone. That player didn't even try to get over to the boards for an outlet pass, when it was obvious the defenseman was being hounded hard, and needed an escape route.
On the other one, a poor panic pass from Hughes, anticipating Myers to move up with the play, which he didn't do, was just one mistake after another.
As assistant coach Bruce said, this is a fragile team and when something goes wrong, it just snowballs from there.
The team is super fragile.

Picks and prospects please.

From that link that minivan posted

It feels like the stage has been set ever since Canucks president Jim Rutherford told Sportsnet 650: “The better he plays, the better return we can get for him.”

Bo playing extra hard to get traded.

I think Bo is a fine player but as a captain, not so much. Stronger leadership might help resolve that fragility within the room. The Canucks were hesitant at first to make Bo captain and now I see why.

I have never grasped why garbage teams feel the need to name a captain right away. Having a rotation of alternate captains should be suffice.

They make such a big deal of it, it should be a coaches decision - every year.

The Vancouver Canucks need to trade five guys in the next week and make a run at that first overall pick. It would change the franchise. To not seriously try is completely irresponsible.

Aquilini will be laughing tomorrow when there are long line ups at the concessions and folks are in the merch shops buying $300 jerseys to throw on the ice.

As painful as this team is to watch, the real pain for the next few years is going to happen once Bo and Schenn are traded.
This is going to be another painful 5 years.

If there is a plan & direction beyond "day to day" then 5 years of pain is fine. Better than 8 or 9 years of no direction and no plan beyond constantly throwing your coach under the bus.

There was one in that thread that Lefty posted who got shamed by the slurpers (Don) for cancelling his tickets because of what Benning was doing. I think Bloated also cancelled season tickets?

My favorite post in that whole thread was hank the tank’s lineup calling it a cup contender

I'm not like Lefty who cheers for half the NHL, however I'm a realist when it comes to the Canucks. Sid was correct they should move out 5 or so players sooner than later, it's the best way to right the ship. These days I don't watch the games, I watch the highlights and read the stat's the next day. 10 minutes or so. #Apathy
