For poops and giggles, assume all these moves are made before or at the trade deadline, please create a roster out of what's left... I need a laugh.

So about the same as a 3rd liner?

Each year, the market changes, moreover this year, with teams being at the cap. Also, very few of these teams have much to offer in the way of good young players, that this management team covets, and several don't even have a 1st round pick to offer.

So, you either take the best offer, or youre-sign Bor/let him walk into free-agency.
Although I would like to see a bigger return for Bo, as I think he is a good player, I only see maybe 3 of the current playoff teams, with what is hoped for, coming back to Vancouver.

Nighthawk is the roster guy and I already get a good laugh at how bad this group is.

If they did all of that, given there would be hits and misses, how long until they were back to at least as good as they are now, but with a bright future? 3 years? 4? Sooner?

I’m thinking 3 years tops to get back to .500.

I suppose all these traded picks are in the lower 3rd of the draft order. But at least you have guaranteed the team to be picking in the bottom 5 for the next decade.

In the past, I have said it would take about 5 years to clear up this mess, I believe if they could do something like what I was sarcastically saying, it would be about 5 years. IMO.

I doubt very much that any team would be able to tear it down like that, but if they could, I would be the 1st to compliment this management group.

which sadly isn't much worse than their record when they actually try to win

You aren’t being realistic on the returns. For any of our players

I think the Bo and Schenn returns will be solid since they're the type of players that contending teams covet. But yes, Canuck fans overvalue the trade value of guys like Boeser and Garland.

If we were fans of contending teams like the Canes for example, I would laugh at any idiot who suggested trading a pick for Boeser's contract

Some people think a rebuild is done in 2 years, when realistically, it takes a minimum of 5 years, but more like 8 years.

After the fiasco from not moving any signicant players out, over the past decade, I would be happy getting a good young player/prospect and a 1st, for any player the Canucks have
This way, I am not setting myself up for disappointment on a return.

I'll still laugh at all the media clowns and the also the dumb fans back in like 2012 or 2013 who pushed the "this fanbase won't accept a rebuild" narrative.

This team has tried to make the playoffs every year and re-tool on the fly which is even harder than rebuilding successfully. And the results have sucked for the last 8 seasons and yet the fans still care. It's American fans that are in cities with NFL/MLB/NBA teams that dont give a poop about rebuilding hockey teams, not canadian hockey fans who are obsessed.

Might be the dumbest narrative I've seen that people actual buy into. Even John Shannon pushes that narrative until this day.

It's a cop out for an impatient dumb owner and anyone who truly believes it has their head in the ground.

Obviously, part of the returns would include some bottom end players, that can help fill out a roster, or are minor cap dumps.
The team still has to meet the cap floor.

It’s clear to all intelligent hockey fans that Boeser is a negative value asset. The return for Bo will stink and Schenn will be a 2nd which is close to worthless. Lottery picks are gold but Bo won’t warrant one. We also won’t receive a blue chip prospect. It will be a reclamation project and a late 1st

When they brought Benning in, I thought they were definitely going to go the rebuild route. I understood he filling the age gap, although I didn't agree with it, but I was wrong on the direction he chose, which was somewhat understandable, because of the Sedins.
8 years later the team is in the same boat, because they traded picks and now have the holes because of trading all those picks.
It becomes a vicious cycle.

Sadly it looks like the cycle is containing. More picks/prospects being traded for other team's scraps and multiple insiders suggesting that they want NHL-ready players at C/D if they trade Horvat.

No one is trading good young NHL C/D, they're too valuable to both rebuilding teams and contenders because of their age and cheap cap hits. You're going to get stuck with Roslovic/Newhook/Peeke types, you're not getting a Byram or Lundell.

Back then fans were spoiled & wanted more. The media just played them. The reality was an aging team loaded with NTC’s was left behind. That alone said we were 5yrs behind in rebuilding. No cup no prospects & no GM was going to toss lifelines. FA cans GMMG & began the milking of the fans. He built nothing just the Aquillin’s bank account. Takes no vision to make money in this market.

Slum lords to the end…
