They don't have sweeteners that they can afford to give up, the only other options are taking on a bad contract, or salary retention.

I would be okay with either, within reason, of course.

What do you mean we don't have sweeteners, the league gives them a 2nd round pick every year. BB and a 2nd, Garland and a 2nd, Pearson a 2nd and a 3rd, here's a 2nd there's a 2nd everyone gets a 2nd.

Looking at Buffalo, with 76 mil in deadline cap space, trade BH, LS and Pearson, then the Sabers might be a dark horse cup contender this year if they get goaltending

I would not give up anything to move him. I would ride out the two more years and take his 17 goals. Like you said though there is no next contract.

To be a sad sack team for too many years to count & win 2-1oa’s isn’t in the DNA of Canuck fans & never has been. Fans might embrace a rebuild but dreaming it can be done easily by just moving out players. On top of that prospects spend time in Abby aka nobody in the NHL til say 21 yrs of age or older. Nobody is to learn on the fly in the NHL.

I think it’ll take 2 maybe 3 significant trades. Ride it out with Myers if a sweetener is needed. Buyout Pearson. Go from there after trading from now til the TDL then onto the summer.
