I don't think playoffs are even the goal, Aquilini doesn't care about winning he makes good money doing nothing, it's a money making machine, the idiot fans just throw their money at him, he could let Horvat walk for nothing and it wont effect his bottom line. Cheering for this team to win is a lost cause, he makes the same money win or lose.
- A_SteamingLombardi

If that's the case sit players and start the tank.

They also don't have the ability/desire to make significant moves. I think this group is content riding the season out.
- VanHockeyGuy

Your right they should force a trade.
There are so many out there to be had.

Retain from NYR’s point of view yes but no for the Canucks on that term.

Bo therefore makes more sense to NY. Still a nice package from NYR needed to make it happen. Simpler option is take one of our RW to fill need. Their prospect pool has none.

If it meant getting a young, solid, cost controlled player for the next 5 seasons, especially with the increasing cap, retaining a mil or so isn't going to cripple the team.

As well, if you trade Miller to the Rangers, you can trade Bo to another team

They won't force a trade, they're okay waiting it out.

With the Canucks ability to score goals (6th highest in league I think) just having an average defence would have this team in a playoff position. We all saw it last season and focused our criticism on that position, wishing and hoping the new management group would address this obvious weakness, but…

This is probably why they are in wait and see mode. It’s frustrating for fans that a direction is not planned but reacted too.

Come up with a solution to unravel OEL & Myers & you’ll be the next GM.

Why would he let them tank? he's making money even paying 2 GMs and 2 coaches.

80's hockey , watch them get dismantled by the heavy D minded teams in round one.

But hey, playoffs are the goal, the season would be deemed a success.

Yup, fans need to stop supporting them but they won’t, after 2011 I gave up but I still watch on the TV so I’m guilty as well lol

I think you see them get dismantled in the next 9 games.

Ya Idk know if I’d bet against that.

Year one for JR and counting, expect the same with these two in 2023.

Insulated 3rd pairing indeed. If he’s a stud plan the parade already.
- Nighthawk

I have no idea what you consider a stud defenseman, but I consider that to be a true #1 defenseman, which Schneider isn't yet, but he would be the closest thing the Canucks would have, to being a true #1 defenseman.

I'm okay with a higher pick than watching them get their ass handed to them in one quick opening series.
- VanHockeyGuy

I don’t think the Canucks will ever draft a winning team. Nothing from their draft history or their development history gives me any hope that they will create a winner.

At this point I just hope they get lucky when they start to trade this core.

Myers comes off the books after next season, easier for them to wait, it will unravel on it's own.

I can wait then judge their moves. Til then idc let the future come. The sky isn’t falling yet & I’m certain we won’t see any JB type set backs.

It's better to eat salary to get rid of him than paying him 8 mil to be a 60 pt player for the last 5-6 years of that contract.

Why they're not reacting like JB did. They're happy waiting it out.

One more year, their in a better place. #StandPat
