@SatiarShah
just said that the Panthers offered Luongo contract to Canucks before he retired so that they could LTIR it but the Canucks declined. Because they had other plans that season.

Yeah, I am keeping a level of calmness, but I still don't know the identity of the team.

I'll tell you, one round of playoff revenue, rinse and repeat. Nothing new here.

Canucks basically operate based on the current season, maybe one year in advance at the most.

How are those players that "got away" doing now.... Vancouver edition

Tyler Motte 7 points in 21 games. 12 games without a point.

Jason Richardinson 9 points in 17 games. 4 points in his last 12 games.

Jalen Chatfield 0 points in 23 games.

Motte would've been fun to watch with Lazar and Joshua

Richardinson sucked here, but maybe that hand injury was a legit excuse, better production and better faceoff %

I remember Vantel being the sole Chatfield fan here, looks like he's found a home in Carolina. Rod likes him.

The past 2 GM regimes have made it that way. It’s a bitter pill to swallow to jettison dumps with picks or buyouts. I don’t have the answers other than don’t compound the problem. That said recent signings get mixed reviews. The biggest issues are 1st Myers & his crap value. OEL has hamstrung us & there is no easy way out. The mid level contract baggage is surely but slowly getting fixed. Dlcky gone Pearson not too much longer & Poolman likely to LTIRetire. Cap structure looks to be somewhat a muddy mess but there is hope imo. Garland for one is unneeded now. In the end it’ll take 2-3 years before we will see if the current mgmt can dig out & gain sustainable success. The prospect pool doesn’t have blue chippers is a big problem. There is some decent later picks who can slot in on cheap elc’s if there development continues. That still leaves the D & reconstructing it to a real strength.

Aman doesn't get enough love. He's got a very good stick.

Vantel like Brisebois now. I'd like a longer look at him as well, maybe later on in the season when they are tanking. Maybe he's next Chatfield they don't give up on too early.

No need. Thanks to eugenics, the flock will be thinned out and you’ll be a statistic. Unfortunately no one wins the argument in the end.

Aman is a solid cheap contract. We suffer without a RHD threat & overall D mobility & defensive skill.

Aman is okay, I don't dislike him but in a 5v5 PK type mindset, he's good. Joshua I think is the guy who has the highest ceiling on that line when he's having a strong game, he's a force down low in the cycle game, surprisingly decent hands and good on the forecheck.

But as long as the 4th line is cheap and not hurting the team, it's hard to have any complaints.

Aman is 4 years younger and has half the amount of NHL experience as Joshua. Together they actually try and make plays, don't just dump in and grind without actually trying to score.

I don't think Aman has the natural offensive instincts to really make anything happen like Joshua and Motte do. But point taken about his age, he could start showing that in the future.
