Not a fan of this but to be honest don't know all the players that well.
- SMP8719

Seth Jarvis is an undersized but fearless winger. Turns 21 in February. 56 points in 100 NHL games. 13th overall in 2020 (pick from the Leafs for buying out Marleau for them)

Scott Morrow is a 20 year old, 6'2 mobile defenseman playing at UMass-Amherst. 46 points in 53 NCAA games. 40th overall in 2021.

Stefan Noesen is a 4th liner/PP Specialist. 29 years old, was the leading scorer in the AHL last year.

2nd line winger
4 line winger
4/5 defender in the future?
3rd Round pick.

- SMP8719

I thought Morrow was projected as a future legit top 4 dman? If he's more of a Bear caliber player than yeah, pass.

First two don't really fit the Canucks MO.

We'll take Noesen

That's the thing though, the payoff needs to be calculated when ranking these kids. If a guy turns out to be a 25-30 goal scoring skilled winger that's nice, but it's a player that you can find through trade/free agency a lot easier than it is to even find a solid two-way second line center or top 4 dman so it's something you just have to factor in when building a rankings list.

When you hit on a C or D, the payoff is higher than hitting on a winger

- Nucker101

Hopefully whoever they pick this year isn't like a lot of their last picks and afraid of contacts. That must have been mandated by Benning.

Not saying guy has to run around and hit people but at least not be afraid to initiate contact.

Numbers are not far off rathbone... but more size.... NCAA stats don't impress me much unless they are dominant. He is the best of that trade coming back likely

Yeah no he's definitely projected to be a top 4 guy.

Hockey East 1st team all star
Hockey East All-Rookie Team
Hockey East championship
NCAA (East) 1st team All-American
NCAA Third Team All-Star

That was all last season as a 19 year old rookie D. We're not talking about a "maybe an NHLer" type guy here.

How about a Jordan Martinook too? You could use another guy who skates really hard, falls down a lot and takes penalties.

You're correct, I also think that the head scout has a decent amount of influence though. Harvey deserves some blame here along with Allvin if Lekk busts
- Nucker101

I believe Granato oversees the scouting department and Liquormaki is the type of player that Ray really likes, so I would excuse Harvey from yhat pick, even though he was BPA

Do you hate these players so much that you want to see them traded to VAN and turn into trash?

Ethan Bear and Jack Studnicka are putting in extra work after morning skate. Looks like they’ll both be scratched.

Maybe just maybe trading for healthy scratch dmen isn't the solution to finding top 4 dmen?

Maybe they should look into drafting and developing their own instead of trading away picks for scraps

Bear healthy scratch

Only in Vancouver.

Line combinations from Thursday’s #Canucks morning skate:

Mikheyev-Horvat-Garland
Joshua-Miller-Boeser
Pederson-Pettersson-Kuzmenko
Dries-Aman-Lazar
Studnicka

Hughes-Schenn
OEL-Myers
Stillman-Burroughs
Bear

I went looking this morning through line combos and Joshua hasn't had much if any time at all with either of the top 6 centers.

That last draft I counted 9 RHD taken in round 2, of course VAN didn't have a pick in that round. I'm perplexed a team with such a poor prospect pool isn't interested in futures. Then again it is Vancouver.

It's the same when players leave the 31 other clubs too.
