Hearing Artem Zub is closing in on a 4-year, $4.6M AAV extension with OTT.

Salaries for D are just much more than we seem to think. Good though because it than makes the inflated salaries of the Canuck D look better.

Jared McCann with his 15th last night in an impressive victory for the hometown Kraken as they continue their impressive season. On pace for a 40 goal season, good thing we got got rid of him and his supposed bad attitude, who needs a 26 year old 40 goal scoring center when you can have an old injured, 14 goal scoring winger instead.

Had the opportunity to watch some parts of Seattle games, I like the way they play. If they didn't have such ugly uniforms, I might be able to cheer for them.

Some fans were begging for toughness and a guy who can clear the front of the net. They got that in Gudbranson... then complained how poopty he was...........

I hope to see more than just an S on the jersey next time. The Kraken is supposed to be pretty much an octopus. Slap one of those on the front

I didn't say he was good at hockey and not overpaid even though as seen by Zub contract earlier, I can't fathom defence contracts anymore.

You are either a 900k 6/7 guy or you are a slightly above replacement level 4M defender. Or in some scenario's you are a between 2-3M bridge deal player to decide whether you are 900k or 4M plus.

However, the first description of the creature is usually credited to the Norwegian bishop, Pontoppidan (1753). Pontoppidan was the first to describe the kraken as an octopus (polypus) of tremendous size

That was what wiki said at first but upon further research of the mythological creature it seems over time and sightings it was indeed more like a squid.

Not saying we shouldn't have traded him, but 2 other teams gave up on him.

If Vancouver kept say 1.5-2M at this deadline. I'd except a late 2nd and a D prospect in return. He can be traded to 22 teams but would like to stay.

What are the Canucks going to extend Bear at?

Tyler Myers wants to stay but there could be interest
TSN: Darren Dreger said on Insider Trading that the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that trade interest in their players will pick up in the New Year.

“When you’re talking about the primary pieces like Bo Horvat, and Brock Boeser, but there’s a secondary player that maybe is being overlooked here and that’s veteran defenceman, Tyler Meyers.

We all know what the contract looks like he’s got this year plus one more year at $6 million. He also has a modified no-trade clause. He wants to stay in Vancouver, but the belief is that there will be outside interest and thinking that a more structured NHL team – a playoff team – could actually help refresh Tyler Myers. So, not the first time we’ve speculated on Meyers, but action is supposed to heat up there.”

Out. Not paying SHAW Cable's inflated prices of $230 for the Centre Ice season they can go fuck themselves.

He didn't use his body and was dreadful at hockey, that's why people complained about him.

The question then hypothetically becomes... is he more valuable at this TDL with some small retention, or keep him and play him for another year, and trade him as a pure rental at next TDL?

Far more value next deadline. The issue is that his contract is prohibitive for us next season if they want to keep Bo

With the Atlantic being so highly competitive hope an arms race occurs driving up returns. The Metro probably more likely to load up.

I believe they need to move out players whenever they can, for whatever they can get in return. If that means this season or next, they need to do it.
No point in delaying the process.
