Habs - far from contention
Wings - looking to take the next step

Controversial take?

- Nucker101

What is it about Detroit, that makes you think they are ready to take the next step and what do you think is the next step?

I like what Detroit has done, I just see too many UFAs on the team with a lack of players ready to step in. I see the opposite in Montreal, who could also have 2 top 16 picks this year.

I like my team, but goalies have been killing me. I usually win the skater categories most weeks. That Russian kid in Carolina and picking up Markstrom will hopefully turn my season around.
- Nucker101

Games played and goalies for me. I got crushed a couple of weeks because I just didn't have enough games to keep pace.

Canucks should bring in gunslinger Marc Bergevin. He has no problem moving top players like Max Pax. He takes his team to SCF one year and then gets top the draft pick two years later.

One thing for sure it would be never a dull moment.

Detroit just has a more mature/older core of players, I don't think they're way ahead talent wise but I do think their core is a little further along by a couple of years before the Habs can catch up

Larkin/Raymond/Bertuzzi/Perron/Seider/Hronek
vs
Suzuki/Caufield/Dach/Guhle

Buffalo is still my fav upcoming team with Tage/Power/Dahlin and then guys like Tuch/Samuelsson/Quinn/Peterka and their prospect pool still has more talent coming up.

I'd take him over this group, I'll say that much

Considering they are .032 points apart in the standings and as you said the Red Wings are currently a more complete team.

He has a record of being hit and miss but he was never idle. Weber and Price on LTIR.
Made some good trades and I liked his D core. I would welcome him but also be prepared for some bumps on the way. Much better than this freefall.

I don't think they want to keep Bertuzzi around.

I also like Buffalo, to go along with Montreal, Anaheim and CBJ for the young talent they have accumulated.
New Jersey I believe is a flash in the pan team.

Not more complete, just a bit further along ahead in their timeline to trying to contend.

Yeah, I think Bertuzzi will get moved eventually. I like his game.

I like NJ, I think they'll be a perennial playoff team but we'll see how they do in the playoffs. I think they should be in on a powerforward like Time Meier.

BUF/ANA I agree with. But man does Anaheim needs to hire a real coach. They play like the Canucks but with less offensive talent. MTL so far on the right track but want to see what else they do. CBJ I like their young talent but some of their roster moves are a bit weird.

I'm sure he was just trying to be helpful after what happened last week.

I went from 9-3 up to 3-6 down in the span of 24 hrs right at the end

.032 further along?

Some pretty good sophomore slumps for Raymond and Seider.

I think Seider will bounceback. I expect the gap between DET and MTL to be bigger than .032 by the end of the season barring major injuries.

Ya, I don't disagree, other than Bertuzzi, who I have had a hard time with how he plays, kinda reminds me of Miller a bit, always pouting.

Anyways, something to read,

Good thing they don't play in Vancouver. Fans want to move out prospects like Hogs and Pods on second year slumps.

That's why it's a good move to load up on several players from the same team, I was basically guaranteed wins last year when Colorado had 3 or 4 games in a week.

Love how Aidan McDonough is randomly thrown into 3 of the deals

I'm still not buying the Habs rumours. Not a fan of the Bruins deal, other 2 are reasonable but I'm not big on a G prospect being a key part of a Horvat trade.

I don't see the Canes giving up that much, they don't usually pay big prices in trades.

A lot of big names including WPGs GM were aware.

What did Mailloux do? I genuinely don't know. I heard something about photos of a girl. Really, I don't know what he is guilty of.

I also remember the Red Wings trying to reinstate the wife beating D man, I mean hell even Rutherford is tied to a wife beating player.

I dont remember for sure but I think he shared naked pics of a girl that he slept with in a group chat with his bois.

Should've pulled a Jagr and put a smiley face on her before sharing and he would've been applauded for it instead, one key move makes all the difference
