They are missing their goaltender and their #1C has been sick the last two games but my god have they played horrible.

What kind of hockey trade do they really think they can make?

This regime is pissing me off so much more than Benning ever did in 8 years and that guy made some dumb (frank)en moves.

Do you get the feeling this management doesn’t care and they don’t need to prove anything attitude? Two things that wasn’t uttered, despite the disaster, during JB’s reign.

They should care if they don't because they were brought in to win games and they aren't. They talked about problems but wanted other GM's to fix their problems. Doubled down on their own problems and now again want other GM's to fix their problems.

When exactly are they going to figure out that other GM's aren't out there to help the Canucks win hockey games?

Last TDL, media and most everyone wondered what the Canucks were going to do. In the off season pretty much everyone questioned what they did, now Friedman the other night saying everyone still wondering what the Canucks are and are going to do.

At least with the last regime, the entire league and everyone outside looking at them weren't looking at them and wondering wtf are they doing like most are doing to this regime.

Exactly. Get their elite goalie back and elite 1C back and there will be a huge playoff push. Maybe even division title. Bouds knows this. Just waiting until they're healthy to get them all the Boudreau bump again

I think we expected more with this group, so it seems worse. Like, we all had different opinions on what the Canucks should do during Benning's 8 years, and he sort of just ground everyone down with his stupidity. But now we all agree they need a rebuild, but they're just going down Aqua's road of stupidly trying to be competitive

Pretty much, team is just pretending to be incredibly bad to see more back up goalies.

Players Benning started with vs the players this group started with, very different. Sadly the prospect pool is still in better shape than when Benning started. Still lacks.

Most everyone does agree rebuild except for one. Re-tool might have been possible if they would have traded Miller at the tdl last year. Without shedding salary at this point, I don't think the team will ever be able to go anywhere and the news of Canucks wanting to make hockey trades when another GM is screaming "we all want to make a trade right now but can't". It sure doesn't give me anymore belief in this new regime that this team will be competitive for the next half decade unless they can stumble into a lotto win maybe next year after drafting another top 10 player this year.

Couple trade ideas.

Boeser to Mtl for Mike Hoffman, 4th, Adam Engstrom, Daniel Sobolev.
(Hoffman buyout is cheap)

Garland to Dal for Gurianov, Khudobin, Jack Bar, Thomas Harley, 2nd in 24'

I think Brock Boeser contract is going to be the hardest contract on the team to get rid of. The guy can't skate, can't shoot, can't pass, can't play defense and refuses to play physical at all.

There was rumoured interest from the Canadiens as they have "liked" him for a while.

Canuck management just doesn't want to lose any trades. They also want to remain competitive. If the parameters of the deal change, most fans would be surprised at the returns.

I bet that JR is looking for a trade similar to Hornqvist for Matheson, Sceviour type of deal for Boeser, or even a return close to what he paid for Jason Zucker.

I agree, expect a bunch of hockey deals, just aren't going to happen, at least not with teams that are playoff bound.
A non-playoff team, on the other hand, may look at a hockey deal, with a player with term, to add stability to their roster, for the next few seasons.
Let's hope that management/ownership change the parameters they have set, as this is not a 2 year retool, as Rutherford mentioned, when he 1st took over.

To your edit, I am sure that is exactly what he is thinking, getting 2 for 1 type deals, although, I have my doubts that they will be available for most of what the Canucks have to offer.

As I had mentioned about the GM screaming about trying to make a trade earlier but can't and here's Canucks management saying they would like to make about 4 hockey deals.

Re-tool might have been 2 years if they would have started it last season by trading Miller. Hindsight, should have taken the deal offered from the Rangers last season or a different deal that would have brought in different parts. At some point, you need to start re-cooping what Benning spent to build this mess.

Vancouver Canucks completed a transaction that might raise some eyebrows. Nils Hoglander was loaned to the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks.

I hope that Hoggy will play tonight for Abbotsford.

It could seem like the Canucks are trying to get some of the younger players away from the poop show that's going on in these days.

Pretty simple they saw the team success with JTM and BB and elected to keep him thinking they were close. Demko masked a lot of flaws.

Now Demko out, plus he had a bad start, the wheels fall off. Management can’t make major deals in season until TDL. Even then would be limited.

So yeah agree they can’t fix their mess. Waiting for other GMs to give them what they want in a trade is futile.

Fans deserve better. Maybe the hockey gods give us a lotto win for Bedard.

They need to send down Aman as well, not only because he is on ELC, but because he is getting crushed out there.

Been watching the news the last couple mornings, pretty funny watching people trying to get around during a snowstorm and having to be reminded they should have snow tires on.

Bunch of idiots.

Depends on injuries. If Petey comes back then yeah maybe they keep Pederson up instead.

What would be great is if they start to sell. Take back dead contracts, hopefully expiring, with futures and fill the spots if need be with waiver guys.

I expected a few groining pains with Aman. Might be an idea to send him down though and bring up Pizza boy for a while.

I was hoping Lazar's floor was close to his 16 points in 70 games last season but he's on pace for 8 points in a full season this year. ffs. Guy has had time in the top 6. Sure isn't helping out the PK either. Brings some grit to the line up but now a days you have to expect more out of even a 4th liner.

Products of poop team though.

Kinda matches some of the stupidity in here don't you think? I like snow days. If I need to get out I have 4x4 and a nice set BFG All Terrains that do well in the snow.
I avoid driving like the plague here though....because not everyone grew up driving in the snow.

Driving in the lower mainland on a good day is a challenge. The fake drivers licenses and road tests a contributing factor.

Penticton has the worst drivers in BC.

I'm getting tired of making jokes about this embarrassing organization. I'm pretty sure the NHL mandates teams to speak post game or Rutherford would tell the players to bail through the back door and offer no comment. Pathetic.

Bo Horvat: I’m running out of things to say here, guys. Another poor effort by us tonight, and that’s the result right there.

It's pretty bad here on the Island. Gets worse every year. But yeah, snow just magnifies the dipshittery.
