Yet Arizona will prosper. 😂
- VanHockeyGuy

They’ll always be a drain on the league financially. Part of the deal. There also isn’t as much pressure to be good like there is in a market like Vancouver. So they’ll rebuild like they are and eventually they’ll be good while the Canucks waffle in mediocrity. Such is today’s NHL and why Canadian team doesn’t have much chance to win a cup these days.

I don’t really care if Arizona has a team or if Florida has a team. I’ve never been to watch Florida or New Jersey and I’ve never paid for an Arizona coyotes ticket. Even when I was back home I stopped going to games because of the poop product.

I went to a game about 8 years ago, was more entertained by our seniorAA team. They worked hard every shift, they hit, goals were scored, saves were made, defense was played, and an occasional fight.

Mind you, none of them were trained in Europe or the USHL, so they played with ❤️

He has his young family here, as much as these guys want to win, their wives/children have a say too especially since there's a good chance he ends up with an American team if he hits the open market. Moving to a new country is a big change for a young family so I'm sure he's more than open to re-signing here.
- Nucker101

I agree. Nothing indicates he wants to move on and is shutting down negotiations. It's logical besides...

- Reubenkincade

Article is from 2016, none of those players really panned out and it hasn't been a major trend since. Overagers have always been drafted in rounds 5-7 (not exclusively ofc) and rarely do you ever see one go earlier. sometimes 4th, maybe 3rd. Pretty much never 2nd or 1st.

Oh sweet they built it already? Oh, no, that's just concept art of a project that hasn't got all the green lights yet and who knows when will actually be finished... good thing the Coyotes aren't even selling out their 5000 seat arena, I'm sure their huge following will flock to the new arena

So far looking like a waste of a 3rd rounder. Our undrafted Bains is having a better AHL season so far.

That wasn't the question or statement that was being made, those were kids taken in the most recent draft, in the 3rd round.

I know, I'm just pointing out that taking overagers in early rounds is rarely a good idea. I'm not saying this 6'7" RHD will be a bad pick in the 3rd, or even 2nd round. I'm saying it is a huge risk taking him when there will be 17 yo kids at the same or better skill level with more room to grow.

Someone posted a list of 2nd round picks by the Canucks over the past 25 years or so. Might have better luck picking older players.

Just cause Our record isn't great doesn't mean doing something worse is a better idea. Always take the kid with the most upside, if this kid is it, take him. That simple.

I know you do, a 6'1" LHD or RHD with the potential to be a top 4 is not as good of a pick as a 6'7" RHD with bottom pairing potential.

I was assuming by upside, you meant a small soft skilled winger.😝

I am fine with that. Not a big fan of BPA, as most of those lists are made by analytics people who love small, soft flashy wingers..
- Reubenkincade

I stand by BPA has always been an overrated acronym. Never was a fan.

Defense and centres are the most needed always. You can always get a good winger like Max Pacioretty, for future considerations.
