As most of you know, I am not a big fan of Pouty, but I would sure like to see him and Bo on the same line together.
They have been paired together on the penalty kill and do a pretty nice job all over the ice.
Having your 2 best players together makes sense in most organizations, except Canucks.

Anyways, to late for that, time to move on and tear it down.

As I said above, I believe Horvat is part of the problem because he has a unique skill-set in that he’s a goal-scoring center with below average puck distribution skills. Now that’d be fine if he had wingers who complemented that type of player, but he never has. Not his fault, it’s the organizations.

Horvat’s part of the bad mix of players. He’s a really good player I just personally don’t think he’s the type of center I’d like on my team because he’s not good enough at making the players around him better by distributing the puck better. That’s just my personal opinion. He has five even strength assists, that’s just not good enough for a guy that’s probably going to get an 8 million dollar a year deal.

After Hank and Dank lost a step, I always wondered why coaches didn't put them on separate lines when they were trying to compete. Fans may not have the experience or expertise that coaches/management do, but we see things the way they never will be able to. Purely because they are stubborn and prefer the status quo.

Earlier in his career, when he played with Boeser and Sven, he was distributing the puck better than he is these days.
They took Boeser away from him and stuck him with slower more defensive players, leading to him having to do a lot by himself, which falls into the category you mentioned, is at the fault of the organization, for not getting good enough complementary players.

3rd place is no longer realistic?

And still only 4 points shy of the WC spot with all these games left...

I hope the Canucks trade Bo Horvat soon and he goes on to have a ton of success. Anyone who moves on from that organization is bettering their career.

I mean he’s not wrong. Canucks are easy to clown on these days, even for the eastern media. Sad times.

It’s too bad this is all the fans’ and media’s fault, we all need to do a better job of running this team. Poor owner and gm needs us to scout/draft/develop better and make better signings/trades.

We also need to stop telling the owner that we’ll never accept a rebuild.

It's a sad state of affairs, but yes he's right. I just hate hearing it from the center of the universe. But hey, maybe that's what it takes to wake these imbeciles up?

I hate it too. This is a low point, I know being cupless as a franchise is bad but being cupless and being as bad as this team has over the past 7-8 years just makes it that much worse.

I mean we either stand pat and meddle in the middle or rebuild. This group has more than proven it's just not a good mix despite flashes from some players. Here's what I predict:

Horvat - should be a good return
Kuzmenko - unproven playoff performer, perhaps a 2nd round pick at deadline
Schenn - maybe something from toronto (although he's my fav on team)
Boeser - not expecting anything of consequence there unless we sweeten somehow

I don't expect the team to move from Hughes and Petey, although I think they should be open to everything. The rest imho have next to zero value unless we considerably retain salary or package picks, which I don't think the team should look to do. Miller is untradeable with his poor 200 ft game and saddled with that extension.

Also, I know late to the game, but sad to see Carol go ... bon voyage!

Horvat will get a solid return
Kusmenko will get a 1st + he is producing like a 1st line player and his cap fits under every single teams budget.
Schenn likely see's a 2nd and maybe a late pick if a team really wants to get it done
Boeser will get us cap space

So I just saw that Forbes says the Canucks revenue is 68 million. Coyotes is 66 million.

The salary cap is currently expected to go up $1M for 23-24 season because the escrow balance the players owe is not currently projected to be paid in full by the end of this season based on revenue projections. In the event it’s paid in full the cap would go up to ballpark $86M.
