Like I said time heals all things. Remember the face of the former captain Bobby Lou sitting on the bench with his new mask he had made for the Heritage game? Happy times.

Fire AV to SCF with the Rangers.

Trade long stick Willie so he can be a major part of the SC winning LA Kings.

There was a lot of anger after the 2011 run. President Cup winners to eliminated in five playoff games but the regular season was impressive.

Post-2011 this team ahs been a mess, but up until then it was fun during the Gillis era. Every year since then has sucked except first year Benning regular season and bubble playoffs, everything outside of that has been brutal for the fans

It was fun for one year with playoffs and the next regular season. 2011-12. The 2012 season Canucks finished in first with 111 pts and the next pacific team finished in ninth in the west. The Pacific was pure dog crap which led to some impressive numbers for the regular season.

Before the SCF we got our asses kicked regularly by Chicago. Second round exists. The Pacific was the softest division for years leading up.

Edit: We were called the Northwest Division back then not Pacific.

In a league where teams are afraid to trade for guys signed for more than 2-3 year deals, I wonder how many would line up to trade for a 30 year old signed for 7 more years and how many owners would sign off on acquiring that contract?
- Nucker101

What about Miller for Seth Jones?

I mean, aside from the fact that Chicago is tanking, but that kind of “hockey trade”

Canucks just acquired OEL and his $10.5m salary…

It was still a lot more fun that whatever the hell we've witnessed over the past decade. I can't speak for yourself, but back then I got more enjoyment from watching this team than I do now and I suspect most fans feel the same way.

A team that won more games than they lost, was hated as well, had legit rivalries, the games against CHI/LA/ANA/SJ/STL were all fun.

Now they're loveable losers that are easy to play against.

Who's our rival now? the owner? Doesn't matter if they're playing CGY/SEA or WAS/CBJ, the games all feel the same because opponents don't give a poop about the Canucks

That’s not entirely true, that 2012 team was a really good veteran team. They unfortunately ran up against Jonathan Quick, who won the Conn Smythe, and an LA team that lost only four games the entire playoffs in 2012 while winning the Cup. It’s 2013 when they were swept by the Sharks that Aquilini should’ve allowed Gillis to start a rebuild, or a new GM. But here we are how many years later he’s still chasing that playoff dream.

I guess when you have a franchise history like the Canucks the best rotten apple is better than the other ones.

Sure, id be happy getting back to that status as a franchise. Where do I sign?????

That seems like it’s impossible right now with how far this team is. Regular season wins against ARI/MTL/SJ feel like wars. I guess those are the new rivalries

I don’t know what that means, but the reality is, they were an excellent hockey team that just lost to a team that was also exceptionally talented with great goaltending. Great teams lose in the first round all the time, it doesn’t take away from the fact they were really really good still.

Last time they traded their captain the Canucks received Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan McCabe and a third-round pick later used to draft Jarkko Ruutu. It changed the fortunes of the franchise and brought about both the West Coast Express years and the Sedin cup final years. Both may have been short lived but it was fun to be a fan back then!

Hopefully Bo is just the beginning of a full house cleansing. Next up Hughes, Boeser, Garland,Demko, Miller, Kuzmenko, Schenn, Burroughs and Pouty.

Maybe Pouty doesn't want to stay because this franchise is a slo-mo disaster.

As I’m not privy to inside information, that could be true, and I wouldn’t blame him. If that’s the case then trade him. If not, keep him!

I know they aren't trading everyone, yet. 1 piece at a time, and in some cases might have to be 2, in order to ge something back..

Avs should easily do the first deal, they really wanted Newhook to step up this season and he's failed to do it. He lost the 2C job to Evan Rodrigues before Rodrigues got injured.

Horvat would thrive on that team

Unsure about Garland's value around the league right now. The thing about selling some forwards is that it should also open up opportunities for other players, so if Horvat is traded, there's a spot open on PP1, if Boeser gets traded too, then suddenly it's a lot easier for the other wingers like Garland on this team to get put into a pump and dump situation.
