Unfortunately 1 pick isn't going to fix this team, although it would be a start.
Team badly needs to acquire picks and get this rebuild on the way.
Any player that can return at minimum a 1st round pick, needs to be moved out, whether that pick is this draft or next, just start the process.

- Reubenkincade

There is never going to be a re-build unless the seats are empty or there is a plane crash, I've accepted that and moved on to other sports. Canucks now are just background noise while I do the dishes. A new owner is needed because this one's ego is to big and having a re-build would mean he's a loser and his fragile little mind can't handle that.

Dreadful first, came out hot in the second then wilted, not much in the third. It wasn’t their worst game but not sure they played well.
- 1970vintage

I've seen a good 20 plus games where the Canucks have scored lots and didn't deserve half of them. Last night they scored none but deserved at least a few.

The first period they were not good no.

The second period, I thought they had some really good looks that Gustafson made some fantastic saves. The wild players also made some fantastic goal saving blocks.

Third period a lot of the same.

The Canucks did not nearly play as bad as the chief of "the sky is falling" makes it out to be most nights.

They still allow way too many opportunities, offensively, to opposing teams. For whatever reason they just don’t play well defensively as five men units. They try to create offensively by making high risk plays which often leads to opportunities for the other team. It’s just a bad mix of players. There’s a bunch of good NHL players, they just don’t work well together.

Which goes back to relying on goaltending too much. As was said for the past two years. If they don’t get it, they’re screwed. Unless they score 5+ goals.

Nice the Canucks have 3 days off to enjoy themselves before heading out on a grueling one game road trip to CAL on Weds.

Ya, I don't disagree, I am just holding onto a little bit of hope that they will do the right thing.

Sure, but that’s the nature of sport and why 8 of 11 is meaningless if you actually watched the games.

Even if they win 10 in a row they need the four teams ahead of them (I’m excluding Vegas, that spot isn’t attainable) to play .500 or below during that streatch to overtake them all.

If they win 10 in a row, and then follow that up with another 10 in a row I’ll concede it’s a good team.

I've said that since 2019. The defence has gotten worse since then.

Is it worth having to attach sweeteners?
- Reubenkincade

No, because like most sweeteners, they leave a bad aftertaste.

Hey, I would have started trading last week to tank.

I watch pretty much all the games and it's always the same no matter what the score is.

Watched the fist period last night and went nope. Enjoyed WC soccer yesterday, and looking forward to NFL today. They're an easy team to forget about when there's quality sports alternatives.

And yet they're happy in their complacency, from the top down it appears.

Disappointing the grass wasn't greener on the other side.

Oh well, the last guy had about 6 years before I was tired of his poop. I will give the new guys years.

Moral victory # 175. They played well but lost. Miller had a great game for the Wild.

Not that it's likely to happen, but now would be a good time to shake the team up (coach/players) on this 3 day break.

TBH apathy set in with me on this team some time ago. I thought JR & PA were the answer. After a year of the same old, clearly I was wrong.

I know you guys don't like me knocking Hughes, but I would sure like to know what he was thinking on the horrible pass from Miller, that lead to a shorthanded goal against.
Why would a player skate within 6 feet of his teammate on a PP at the blue line.
I have been trying to back off on the criticism of this kid, but man he is brutal.
Ya, ya, look at all those assists, which are mostly 2nd assists. Hopefully he is part of the dirty laundry changing.
