Young Boldy with 10 goals not even a 3rd of the way into the season. He's redundant people claimed. Canucks need a player like Podkolzin instead.

Offense isn’t a concern. A player like Pod is needed in our scheme of things if he can develop as expected. Typical 3rd wheel type. We need 200’ F’s to augment scoring weak D players.

I don’t think anyone can defend Myers anymore. He’s an anchor that cannot be gone soon enough. Including that we can lose a big F contract.

Once or if that’s done I’ll put management truly on the hot seat or bite the bullet & ride it out. No giving up picks or assets.

I don’t think anyone can defend this team anymore. They have many anchors that cannot be gone soon enough.

. No giving up picks or assets.

Of late nobody in here is defending the team in fact it seems to be consensus that what was inherited has proven very difficult to unravel. What is likely to happen is kinda stand pat or give away anchors somehow.

Offense isn't a concern? Young offensive players will be needed once the trades start.

You really don't see this forward group being broken up do you? Have you thought past this season? Sounds like you are only concerned about now. Where is the D improvements going to come from if you vision this offense staying intact past this season?

Filler players like Podz can be added along the way and not with your 10th OA pick. What do you think managers view as a more valuable asset in this league? Podz or Boldy? Even if Boldy is a 3rd wheel to this team like you say, he would have some pretty good value in a trade if this team was pursuing a solid young defensemen. I bet no one would consider giving up much for Podkolzin.

Whether it was inherited or not, they blew a few chances to move out some of this inheritance and chose to re-sign some of them for crazy amounts.
They obviously over-valued some players, and wouldn't take the best offer available, for what ever reason, now it just gets added to by adding another high-priced FA in Mikheyev, which ultimately cost a 2nd round pick and the addition of Stillman.
Basically this new group has just added on to the problems they inherited.

I see the cap allocation as the 1st order of biz. From there change for real can happen. That will define the new regime. Prospect pipeline isn’t great but there will be decent role players seasoned for upcoming years. Nothing elite but next drafts will help there. The F group will be broken up & Boeser the 1st piece. I don’t see Pod as filler as he gets more experience. I see him as a valuable 3rd wheel to gel a line once he gains confidence. Hoglander not sure if he has more ceiling.

3rd wheel more valuable to this team than a 1st wheel... both on entry level contracts... I don't agree.

How would I know, but I am pretty sure offers were made, they just didn't like what was being offered, now the team is stuck with what they have.
Not sure what you mean by, what chances, I never mentioned anything about chances.

Who do we have that’ll be a 1st wheel? Empty prospect pool was inherited. As for D help look up UFA’s & decide.

Are you suggesting the team build the defense through free-agency?

I didn't ask a question, I expressed an opinion.
In regards to selling low, now they will have to sell even lower, which is a problem with this philosophy of only sell high, because in most cases, the player can't be propped back up, so sell whenever you get a chance, in other words, when it is time to move on from a player, then move on, regardless of what the returns, holding on can be detrimental in many ways.

The problem with being afraid to lose a trade is that you never make a trade or end up losing worse when you inevitably have to make a trade or else (in the case of Toffoli) lose the asset entirely for nothing. The problem this team has had for years since the beginnings of the franchise is an unwillingness to move on from players when they should have for whatever reason, from trying to squeeze out one more year from declining players, trying to rehabilitate prospects that have outright failed or not met expectations or not liking the offers from other teams.

So you stated you didn’t know the other offers if there was any but now say selling even lower. As for philosophy of selling high Schenn fits that. We don’t what other sell high offers there was & I don’t believe there were any.

Those were not my words. I did say Pod has the potential to be a good 3rd wheel. Nobody can find a quote saying I’d turn down a 1st wheel. I also said earlier Boldy was my pick even as far back as preseason of that year.

I suggest if they unload Myers they can get what they need as UFA(s) Gudas Gavrikov & Soucy will be available. Defensive D with snarl.

I've been trying to figure out people's logic. Don't need Boldy.... even though he's a building piece or an asset to build with. Don't move forwards not named Boeser. Use top 10 picks on bottom 6 type players.

I guess UFA's are where the D is coming from because Boeser isn't going to bring one in.

Start with who you’d move & what you think would come back. I single out Myers cuz he’s a 6m plug & in the way of rebuilding the D. Boeser cuz expendable expensive & underwhelming. It doesn’t end there. Buyout Pearson.

You didnt phrase it like that but it's more or less the logic. You say they need Podz more than Boldy. I disagree. Even if they keep this forward group intact, Boldy could be traded. If they trade Boeser for cap space, Boldy fills in the hole much better and way smaller cap hit for the next few seasons. It's wiser cap spending.
