Marchand and Nylander as power forwards
- NorthNuck

It does describe new age power forward but I would say that Nylander especially and Jordan Kyrou do not fit with the rest of the players on that list.

I hear 9 smill for BH and L Shenn can fetch us a 1st
- onesmallleap

I’m guessing Bo comes in about 8.5m or so. Schenn could get a 1st being his play & RHD demand is always a huge return.

All season last year they talked about how Miller was going to cost 9.5 plus to a long term deal. It went all the way up to 10M by the end of the season and in the end he signed for 8.

Only way Bo signs back in Van is for 7 or less.

‘THEY’ were pundits that guessed high like anyone can. To think they get paid for that lol

I predict 8/8m like JTM but mgmt still wants it cheaper.

JG held up the signing. He took less.
- Nighthawk

regardless of what he took... that could easily happen here.

JG also did that cause he was offended at Calgary's first offer. Seeing some parallels here.......

Horvat still isn't on pace for 99 points.

Probably true but also not allowing to be forced into anything means spine. It’s not always the best approach but caving sets a bad precedence.

Or you set unrealistic expectations for a return

I thought you said they get paid for goals, which he is on pace for 60, put will probably get about 43

He also clearly said at the outset that he was looking for an American team to play on so that also factors in. Calgary was always going to be his second choice regardless of the offers Treliving put out so there's that. BH wants to stay, but the fact is, even IF we manage to dump enough cap to sign him, that still leaves EP40 no money next year to sign and he's going to want a MASSIVE contract that's bigger than both Bo AND Miller combined and deserves it based on his play.

That’s one scenario the worst one at that. What other scenarios do you envision. Thx in advance.

Based on how management clung to play off hopes last season and kept Miller at the TDL then in the summer because they thought with a healthy Poolman, this team has a shot so they signed Miller.... I could see them signing Bo because the play offs are in reach. After trading a 1st or hopefully only a 2nd to get rid of Boeser's contract to make room for the contract of course.

I'm not going out of my way to make that look bad... it's on course with what they've done so far. This team looks like they'll hang around that bottom seed and we know how they feel about that based on last TDL and the summer.

Horvats a center. Miller is a winger. This is an argument that management can't win. They won't get it cheaper... Horvat left money on the table last time and now he has to put up with being low balled and not being shown he's worth a lot more than Boeser. They made this mess when they signed miller and Boeser in the summer.

...or support bad management for 8 seasons because it's only fair after Benning had that long?

I would be all in on that seeing our luck with second round picks is two thumbs up.
- VANTEL

Now we know why Benning let players walk, it's less embarrassing than trading them for draft picks and then picking duds especially when you've marketed yourself as a scouting guru.

Bo does other things and smart teams know that. Also, the cap set to rise.

If you were the GM of a team that could use some secondary scoring, which forward would you target?

They have. Hopefully with scoring going up and up it devalues the price for scorers.

So the Canucks should re-sign him to whatever he wants so that they can't afford Petey when his contract is up? Gotta bring the whole gang back to keep the results the same.

That seems to always be the case, that's why Canucks fans are idiots, all Canadian team fans do it.

They do and in this case, Rutherford set some pretty high wants for a return.

LA is ahead of Van in the standings but they aren't immune to giving up 4 goal periods.

True but points are not the only factor on my valuation. Bo is a legit top 6 C & less prone to giveaways.

Pretty certain they’re not trading a 1st or 2nd to treat Boeser as a dump.

Ummmm... no. I know you are exaggerating to make a point, but Pouty will not make more than Nathan MacKinnon's $12.6m per, or Connor McDavid's $12.5 million per.

As of now, Bo's and Miller's combined total is $12.5m. Pouty's getting paid but not that much especially without any type of team success on his watch (so far).
