Unsustainable wins against poopty teams.
- NorthNuck

80s hockey is good. Just need a few bigger open ice hits. JTM had a nice one last night though he mailed in the rest. Took a hard shot off his ankle.

Last night Nighty said “chances matter nada” which is one of the dumbest things he’s said in a while.

In a single game it’s not unlikely to get caved in and come away even, but the longer you go, all other things being equal, that puck is going to end up in your net a lot more than the opposition net.

There's proof in "playing the right way" equals success not just in regular season but also the playoffs. The Canucks are not playing the right way. Even with wins in 8 of 11. It's still not right.

This is what I'm afraid of. We aren't good enough to win a round in the Playoffs, but other teams in our division are poopty enough that we can squeeze in.
- Retinalz

Scouts aren't good enough to draft someone good anymore anyways with Benning gone.

Seravalli said Canucks first offer to Horvat was 8 years at 5.125 mill per season.

#LMAOOOOOO

(Halford and Brough)
That would be the same deal RNH got.

A little bit less than what Trochek got on the open market.

The defense is back to the shooting gallery box that was a staple under Green and Baumer. What good is Myers if he isn't clearing the front of the net..... With a wing span of 20 feet you'd think he could do a lot better.

Why everyone being so negative?
Canucks are on a 3 game heater, have scored 16 goals in last 3 games, have reached .500, for the 1st time this season, and are only 2 points back of a playoff spot, nothing like a good run for a playoff spot.

They like the Canucks, keep the band together, hopefully sooner or later we will win.
- manvanfan

Except the Canucks don't have the two best players in the league on the same team.

We are also now getting to the point where we are too good to be bottom 5. Can still be bottom 10 if we try hard enough.

It's been a long hard road, but we finally did it!

I wonder if their power play is still top 10...

I'd argue that Mackinnon is better than Draisatl. Just not as durable.

#Canucks are 8-3-0 in their last 11 games.

4 of those wins have come in overtime. They’ve been out-chanced by 60+ at 5-on-5 during that stretch and outscored by 4.

You can see signs of life, and you can see the seams too. Classic.

LeBrun has a good article at the Athletic about it... basically GMs are saying there's a ton of skill and young skill in the game, and the players are more inclined to offense than to playing "the right way". More goals, blown leads, etc... its league wide, but the Canucks just do it a little more than the rest.

Definitely a better team than the bottom 5 team in the league, but about equal to the next 13 teams.

I was told chances don't matter, who cares if they are being outplayed, they are piling up wins and personal stats, what more can us fans ask for?

Mack is better, no question. I would say there's more of a debate with Makar vs. Mackinnon as the 2nd best in the league.

As Doughty said the 4th line guys aren't going to dump and chase every single time. They are going to try and beat you 1v1.

The game of 3-2 is gone. It's 4-3 now.

Yeah he's so good that we're still only .500 and giving up leads and barely winning games against bad opponents, sure. No one's ever said that EP40 isn't talented, only that he's not a franchise saviour and the cast around him sucks big salty chocolate donkey balls.
- DariusKnight

Didnt realize that he's the only Kid on the ice every shift and responsible for every loss...thanks for the heads up :thumbs-up:

Don't you dare give an ounce of credit to any Canucks ever

Playing defence has been in decline for a good decade now pretty much. Scoring gets you paid not playing good defence.

Pouty has been playing a more consistent game and putting in the effort all over the ice.
Good to see he is much stronger on the puck and he has reduced his Bambi impersonation to almost nil.

It's what the owner wants, 2-3 playoff home games 15+ mil to buy more blueberry farms.
