I believe he was still evaluating the team back then, you realize he's only been with the team a year right?

Funniest part of this winning streak is they needed OT to beat 3 of the bottom 5 teams.

Management will see it for what it is but the owner is going to buy into this and want to go all in for the playoffs.

February is setting up for an epic showdown between mgmt and ownership

Like I said in a previous post, FA probably had something to do with it. TDL last year we were in a playoff hunt and that dream would die without Miller. So unless an offer came that knocked out socks off, FA likely would prevent any deal back then.

This is our team when goalies aren't standing on their heads every night.

EDIT: I've noticed that most of the time when our goalie is screened, our players are doing it. Either block the shot by throwing yourself in front of it or get out of the goalie's way

This is why the playoff dream will crumble if they get a WC spot.

Better yet, play defense and actually stop those shots before they happen and take offensive players out of the play so that the goalie doesn't need to worry as much. Half of the problem is the absolute disdain to try and throw the body around in your own zone and knock people off of the skates to get the puck back. All they do is wave sticks around and try and stay close to their check.

Like the Gadj goal, Aman just screening the goalie and waiving his stick. Challenge the f*cking kid if you're going to get in front like that.

This is correct, also when the teams defence does not play above their normal levels. Myers and OEL were acceptable last season.

HOLY (frank)!!! Vancouver does not have the worst penalty kill in the league anymore!!!!
St. Louis, Anaheim and Seattle's are worse.

Miller and Horvat I found last night were noticeably gliding all over the ice. Explains why that line together were caved in

Trying to block a shot is a very normal thing in the league. If goalie can't look around 1 set of legs to find the puck, maybe not an NHL goalie.

Hard to blame Aman when Lazar gains control then loses it in the neutral zone. OEL gets the puck along the boards, does not move it allowing Gadjovich to move him off the puck so easily. 1 chance to deny entry, another chance to exit the zone.

The defense is back to the shooting gallery box that was a staple under Green and Baumer. What good is Myers if he isn't clearing the front of the net..... With a wing span of 20 feet you'd think he could do a lot better.

Petey wins it in OT, and the Canucks have won eight of their last 11 games. They are one of the NHL's hottest teams. It's absolutely hilarious.

If the Canucks put in the effort that these other poopty teams play with. They might be a top 15 team in the league.

This is what I'm afraid of. We aren't good enough to win a round in the Playoffs, but other teams in our division are poopty enough that we can squeeze in.

Last night Nighty said “chances matter nada” which is one of the dumbest things he’s said in a while.

In a single game it’s not unlikely to get caved in and come away even, but the longer you go, all other things being equal, that puck is going to end up in your net a lot more than the opposition net.

100%. This win streak is definitely scary, they will need to play a lot better if they want to stand a chance in any of their next 3 games: MIN, CGY, WPG
