Ok guys,

I read this blog everyday, but rarely post. That being said, I have a legit question: Since it is a well established opinion of this board, that Felch needs to go, and sooner rather than later, who would you replace him with? And when?

- Hokeeguy9

Someone from either the Lightning or Hurricanes front office, namely Eric Tulsky, Al Murray or Mathieu Darche

I don't see it as a legit question. A name can be pulled out of a hat and suggested but it's really not a fair question. Smells of an agenda behind it.

It is called he is creating conversation. Why isn't it a legit question? Besides you will never throw a name out as that is your MO. You sure that smell is an agenda? Might want to take another whiff.

Torts on Frost- Ouch!!!

The stuff he had to say about Hayes and his bad habits was a bigger deal, but doesn't make for as good of a clickbait tweet.

Tulsky would be the perfect fit.

Which is another way of saying it will never happen.

Everyone has been really good as of late here. Lots of conversation.

I see some of it sliding to a more disrespectful manner towards your fellow posters. let's reign it in a bit while we disagree and debate.

Pretty good conversations being had and I don't want to slow it or stop it but we can be a bit more respectful is all.

I don't know names enough to give you one that makes sense. However, I'd say it depends on if management/ownership thinks Chuck can make the moves necessary for the team. If they don't have faith in his trade making abilities then he's got to go before the deadline.

Nope. Not all! It’s just that for all the fire Fletcher talk, I never see a legit replacement name with it.
So I asked. I had a mentor long ago who said “if you have a female dog or gripe, you better come in with what you believe to be a solution. Otherwise it’s female doging for female dogings sake, and negative, so get out.”

And for anyone who has names, are they available at the time you’d replace Fletch.

I’m just curious, as I couldn’t think of any.

To those that offered up options, thanks.

“You look at Frosty, I still think he’s up and down like a toilet seat here, as far as you see him coming, then he dips, and then you see him coming,” he said. “Hopefully, it levels out and keeps going in the proper direction, because he’s supposed to be a skilled guy. You can see it’s there, but it’s still very inconsistent.”

Exactly this. I think we've all been waiting for the Briere promotion, Fletcher to full blown president move. I'm wondering if this losing streak hastens that. I also thought it was interesting how much Tortorella pumped Briere's tires in the press conference yesterday. Maybe he knows that it's coming.

Bill,
Thanks for reminding me of Dorney's segments. He taught me a lot about the game and what to watch for. Especially important in an area that wasn't a traditional hockey market. While there was professional hockey in Philly and SJ previously, the Flyers really made the Delaware Valley into a hockey area. Bill Clement added some teaching points in his analysis as well.

This isn't a workplace. It's a message board. The issue is that you can find a name. The obvious choices are candidates from outside successful organizations. Which is what everyone is going to name. The question is are those candidates available. Would Carolina let Tulsky leave. Would TB let Darche leave? Would they want to come to a train wreck of an organization where they likely would not have autonomy? These are all questions that fans can't answer. I also don't think an opinion that Fletcher should be fired needs to be justified by a suggestion of a successor.

Once again the poster is creating conversation. You do not have to be a part of it; others my want to discuss. Unless you have a different topic you want to discuss.

Because it is a promotion and take on a new challenge. More money.

This is a scary scenario and part of the root of the whole issue.

I think it will be Briere just because Flyers gonna Flyer. Briere may have some great ideas being a more modern era player, but will the brass give him the autonomy to do what HE thinks needs to be done or will the CC committee have its say? Or maybe he gets the job because he already thinks the way the CC thinks.

Hextall had all the power to do as he pleased. So I have no doubt whoever is next will also as well. If they choose that route and do not involve anyone except their own team.

Chuck is just an ass kisser and involves the Advisors and others. He isn't good enough to have his own ideas.

And he got fired for it as the CC committee turned on him.

I would trade Ivan in a second. Has nothing to do with Sanheim. Trade both is/was the smart move.
- furio16

And get what back? No it wouldn’t be a smart move.

Yes! I would love the Flyers to look at Stacy Roest, Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Development. Mostly because of his player development role which I think this organization desperately needs.

He earned his dismissal. For a variety of reasons. IMO that played a very small if any part of his firing. Do not take that as I am advocating for them to stay as advisors. They need to be flushed out as well.

As do I. I think most people would agree he's a 17 minute #5 defenseman at best. The problem is the front office doesn't view him that way which is why he got the contract he got. I actually wish they gave him some PP time because that's where he flourished in Buffalo.
- TobyFlenderson

I don’t think Ristolainen is a top pair guy or a third pair guy. I think he’s slotted fine on the second pair. He needs to kill penalties or else he’s completely useless. I’m fine with trying him on the PP, I think he’s shown more than Sanheim in his career but I don’t need Risto on the PP.
