you never want your opponents to know where you are hurt, otherwise they target it any chance they can get. This isn't street hockey!

Or they just don’t care and skate past you because you suck.

The Flyers will be in most games this season regardless, because of the way Torts wants and demands them to play. The games this year have been competitive and entertaining for the most part, or at a minimum much better than last year. Still, the Flyers need to lose as much as possible, there is no other way for this team. I am praying Torts and Fletcher get this or this franchise is screwed for years to come.

Wow. Just wow. Do you watch any other NHL games besides the Flyers?

It really doesn't matter what game is watched in that case.

I do. I watch a lot of hockey, both college and Pro. Unlike some cowards on this forum who openly admit to not watch the games but somehow has plenty of opinions about how bad the team and organization is. I don't bury my head in stat sheets, I watch the games and enjoy them at every level as long as the game is competitive. The Flyers this year have been competitive in just about every game, and that is enough for me this year. I don't need to see a Connor McDavid or Nathan MacKinnon to be entertained!

You also think that JOB has "the goods" - and that rr is a top d-man in the NHL - so you should not be surprised when people question your takes on the sport of hockey

Laughton, Konency, JvR and Atkinson to return. Are we in games or out of them even with these guys back?

Farabee-Hayes-Konency
Cates-Frost-Tippett
JvR-Laughton-Atkinson
Deslauriers-Sedlak-MacEwen

My guess is that Brown, Bellows, Laczynski will sit.

With the way the D and goaltending has played adding those guys will get them to a top 3 finish in the division. The way the coach has them playing and being very hard to play against anything less would be a failure.

Maybe 25 years ago that statement had value. Not in todays game. Everyone is all buddy buddy the "intent" to injure has been pretty much removed sadly.

Street hockey is more brutal than ice hockey.

The Flyers are not competitive at all most nights and overall. They are outplayed most nights. They are not entertaining in any way. They are a bad hockey team which one would expect when looking at the roster.

Is 0-7-3 in the last 10 games a record of a competitive team?

He knows exactly what Tortorella wants. Has the experience of playing for him. His injury has damaged the Flyers culture. He will work hard every shift and play Flyers hockey.

Nothing earth shattering except: "Only wingers Kevin Hayes and Joel Farabee are established elite NHLers for the Flyers at the moment. Everyone else is either a prospect still finding their footing in hockey’s best league, or they’re journeymen with no upside to pin hopes on. "

I still watch hoping to see some of these guys start to show me something. That part is entertaining. Everyone wants to point to effort…that shouldn’t ever be a question, but some how in the last two years it has been. What’s not entertaining is the difference every single night that the opponent simply has better players. That’s getting old real fast.

Waiting for the coach to say something around well lets see what we have when we have all the injured players back. Just a delusional out of touch group.

Not sure there is much for these guys to show. All of them are not top 6 players IMO (Farabee can be one maybe). So not sure what peoples expectations are going forward for the likes of Frost Tippet Cates and the like. If they can turn into a solid 3rd line then great that is a start.

It has been beaten to death they just lack talent to drive this team. Those injured players will not help in the sense to be a cup contender. They will ensure they draft out of the top 5 is more likely. TK (free agent after the 2025 season) is the only legit top 6 player they have on the team. Not counting Couturier as he is damaged goods. 1 top 6 player is embarrassing as hell.

Anyone have any attendance figures as to lazy to look.

The only solace I can take from that pick was that, looking at who was taken after him, there are very few players who have made any kind of impact in the NHL to this point. And we did hit on Farabee, who has the 5th most points in that draft class while being drafted at #14.

Gotta think positive sometimes.

I think October was fun to watch win or lose. November has been unwatchable. I don’t know who needs to hear this but Ristolainen has been alright and the least of our problems. That top pair is starting to fall apart with Hart by getting zero support and having one player who should be there at all in DeAngelo.

At this point Ill take that since they have been giving them away like high danger scoring chances.

I think Ristolainen hasn't been a glaring issue because he's only playing 17 minutes (by far his career low in ATOI) a game and against easier competition. That's still not what you want from a guy who's making $5.1 million for the next 5 years, but it seems like a coach has finally figured out where to slot him. Also, Tortorella said that Zamula is playing tonight regardless of TDA's status, so there's a chance Ristolainen could be healthy scratched again.

In summary:
Homer sucked as a GM

Homer had his warts as GM, but the man took the worst team in the NHL in '06-'07 and had them in the conference finals the next year, and then in the SCF two years after that.

What's going on now with the Flyers has to be the worst stretch in their history. Even when they missed the playoffs five straight years in the early '90's, they were at least somewhat competitive. But now, they're bucking to be among the bottom feeders for the 3rd straight year, with no reasonable end in sight.

One thing I will give the coach credit for is he realizes what Risto is and played him accordingly. Now it seems he is back with Sanheim which will mean more than 17 minutes. So we shall see if he can carry over his solid recent play. As you said though it was easier sheltered minutes.

Braun is on his last legs.
