Never believe the Flyers were going to keep up the pace but until the most recent set of injuries there were some encouraging things to me.

My expectations were very low going into the season, but watching Konecny before he got injured, watching Allison earn more ice team. Hart may have comeback down to earth but I still think he’s playing well even if his save percentage has taken a dip. I liked Provorov’s bounce back from the last two seasons even if he’s not as high of a ceiling we were hoping for.

I like that people are finally seeing Hayes for what he is, everyone used to female dog about JVR defensively and ignored Hayes total lack of interest in their own zone.

There were similar encouraging things early last year. Take the first 10-12 games and discard it. Teams are just settling in. Players get their timing and reads fired up and things change from there. Rapidly in general. The weight and frustration of losing is cumulative. The effects of that in terms of confidence is cumulative.

This organization from top to bottom is garbage and has been for a long time. The most glaring issues for our demise IMO is the clueless cap management, awful drafting, and inability to develop players. Add in all of the other incompetence and it is a recipe for disaster. Changing the GM, while desirable, falls way short of fixing the issues. I know believe that an ownership change is the only thing that will change the Flyers fortunes.

Comcast has run this team into the ground, only Ed Snider kept them from running it into the ground for almost 2 decades since they first became involved. In the 25+ years they have had ownership this team has gone to the finals twice…once with Lindros and once with Pronger; they have been a disgrace the majority of the time. They don’t care, and until the Flyers are sold to someone that does care we will be left with this embarrassing joke of a franchise. I hope the fans start bringing signs that say “sell the franchise” or just stop going altogether. I like the retro jerseys, but can’t think of a single player or prospect that i would want to put on it. I will save my money until they deserve it.

It is staggering how irrelevant this franchise has become. Forget about winning, they are rarely even entertaining enough to justify watching.

I wonder what York has to do to get a call up. I haven't seen any Phantoms games. I would hope he is viewed as more of a player going forward then Seeler. The DeAngelo trade is just perplexing if the plan was to get Sanheim. The PP still sucks. The roster has too many avg Dmen with term left on the contracts seemingly blocking young guys like York, Zamula, and Attard from regular playing time in the NHL. #FireFletcher cannot come soon enough.

I think you misunderstood what he was trying to say there. He wasn't saying the identity needs to be the Flyers tough guys of old identity, he was saying they needed an identity of any kind.

Do they want to be a fast team? A skill team? A team that is big and tough? A defensive first team? A run and gun team?

I think he was saying he wants to them to pick any identity and build on it instead of this mishmash of players that have no clear goal of what it is they are trying to accomplish.

He was saying they are a rudderless group with no real clue on what kind of team they want to be, and that starts at the top.

The Flyers will be in most games this season regardless, because of the way Torts wants and demands them to play. The games this year have been competitive and entertaining for the most part, or at a minimum much better than last year. Still, the Flyers need to lose as much as possible, there is no other way for this team. I am praying Torts and Fletcher get this or this franchise is screwed for years to come.
