Feel better.

Let's see if the PK benefits us again. All 3 goals in the game have been scored within 2 minutes of a good PK.

So Brian Rust can still skate, but is choosing not to most nights.

I don't even know if that was a penalty. It wasn't a very hard push. They all just stood there lol.....comical.

5 on 5 HDSC were 16-9 Pens. To my eyes Canes were better team in the first two periods and Pens were in the 3rd. This is the type of game a functioning PP can tip the scales in your favour.

HDSC’s are determined by where the shot came from on the ice right? Doesn’t account for what the other team is doing, or the player shooting the pucks body position.

That's right. Mathematically a much higher % of goals are scored from these areas and therefore shots from them are tracked seperatly. I've never ever thought of this stuff as the be all end all for the reasons in your last sentence and more. However, I do think they can be quite useful in analyzing teams, especially over periods of time.

Petts-Petry looked good in their elevated roles. They were aiways supposed to be together, anyway. Did all of training camp, pre season and started the season together.

At 5 on 5 Petry rocking a 100% HDSC% (5-0) and 61.94 xGF%

Yeah, the Pens were outshot... But... Not a lot of quality shots from Canes... Pretty perimeter

That's kinda what they do these days. Fire it from the point a million times and look for a rebound or a deflection.

Getting Teravainen and Pacioretty back into the lineup will help with that.

Exactly. Sullivan mentioned that in his post game interview. Both goals were a byproduct of that mentallity.

The first was a scramble in front, the second was a misplay by Jarry. Although, personally, I put much of the blame for that one on our style of play. First Pettersson threw a 'watch out' pass that was turned around. While the three forwards were hustling to get back in the play, Pettersson then decided it was prudent to attack the puck carrier at the blue line and leave a three on one. Not his fault as I think that's what Sullivan wants the defense to do.

Yeah it was aggressive but I'm not sure it was the wrong choice in the circumstance.
