Fair comment from Sat...

"But let’s get real, it’s absurd to pay 1C money for Bo, he ain’t that"

- VanHockeyGuy

It's the truth, Petey is a 1C. Petey is better than Bo. Everyone can see it. Everyone knows it. Bo aligns much more career wise with Brayden Schenn and Vincent Trochek than he does with Hertl and Hintz.

Dom L-however you spell his (frank)ed up name had Bo last year as a 6.5M center for the next couple years than trailing off.

RNH signed for 5.125M two years ago who has a closer career path to Bo.

It was also absurd to pay JTM 1C money, but here we are

Remember this guy named Hank no one thought was a 1C then around Bo’s age now he hit his stride.

Either they sign Bo to a hometown discount or he gets traded for a bundle before TDL.

- Quinn's Quest

Henrik was 25 when he went for 75 points in 81 games.
Bo at 25 had 39 points in 52 games. Good for 61 points over 82 games.

1C is coming up 9+M, 2c is going to be around 8M. Thats he standard.

Horvats been a beast for years, the fanbase here are the saddest, most embarrassing bunch of grass is greener twats I've ever come across.

He's not going anywhere - he'll get his extension. Whatever he gets he's worth, the higher the better if you ask me. 12X8?? whatever he wants go for it.

I said before the season started that Horvat hasn't even hit his ceiling yet - I was right. The same goes for Petey and Hughes - we've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant. JTM had a 100 point season and got paid. If Bo breaks 40 goals in his contract year he'll get 1C money. Is what it is.

Excellent post and spot-on. But the 'sell it all' crowd needs sh!t to whine about day in day out...

Can honestly see Petey having 3-4 'Zetterberg' style years here where he is at 90 points per season.

Just for some comparisons, without checking any other teams rosters, other than Canu KS and Habs
Habs top line 62 points, 26 goals
Canucks Top 2 lines
61 points- 28 goals
54 points 29 goals

I think we are splitting hairs here.
I personally think it is a great way to build a cup contender, by having 2 solid top lines, although there are so many weaknesses on this team that something has to give.

Bo finally gets a high end offensive winger, other than Brocks 1st year, starts producing like a top centre, get slammed by Canucks fans

Then what's the point of coming on here and voicing our stupid opinions everyday? It's all irrelevant

Not saying he won't get 1C money, I'm just saying that he and Miller aren't 1Cs, even if they're gonna be paid like it.

Sure he isn’t an assist machine but he can score. By the way Hank “crested the PPG threshold for the first time in 2008/09 at the age of 28, one year older than Horvat is now” per Canuck army.

You realize that Miller wasn't in his contract year, last season , don't you?

Nice to see you posting your source of information

I found that stat a bit surprising when I read that earlier.

Doesn't matter - they know he's gonna put up 100+ points for the next 8 seasons - guaranteed.

His contract also is structured to include bonus money depending on # of F bombs dropped per game.

Peteys on pace for a 100 points this season.

The way I look at it is anything over 75 points from Petey is a win contract-wise.

Wish we would've signed him to an 8 year deal. Kids gonna get PAID in 2024

Bo has never crested the PPG mark. Over the first 21 games he has this season shooting 10% over his career average.
