Bill Armstrong asked for Savoie in talks with Adams for Chychrun , that will not happen. That's not even a starting point. - SABRES 89
It sounds like he's grossly overvalued. Makes a lot more sense for a contending team.

Agree Ostlund would be the only one out of that group I would consider |

Before the season, Cozens, Quinn and Krebs were called out.
Since then,
- Cozens has been steadily growing his game and has recently been playing fabulous hockey...good news is he's young, motivated and driven to succeed making this a step on his ladder, not the top floor.
- Quinn, true to his history of taking time when stepping up in leagues, took a bit to begin to figure his game out. Playing well, and he too seems to be on rung 2 of a very tall ladder... so much potential.
- Krebs is taking much longer and hasn't yet taken the next step..there is more time to be had, and playing him on a regular basis seems like the smart play here. Danny Brierre also took more time than Krebs has played so far, Krebs has better production comparable.
The Peterka-Cozens-Quinn line is drawing tough competition assignments and has 52% xGF share...they are doing exactly what the Girgs/Okposo version of the Larry Line should have been doing but simply can't.
Now, UPL is the next target. Some have come to his defense pointing to poor D and abysmal PK hurting his results. Some choose to ignore Advanced Analytics as all pixie dust BS, but looking under the hood is just plain smart
Great article by Matthew Faairburn on The Athletic:
"The power play has put a dent in Luukkonen’s numbers, but he’s been solid otherwise. At five-on-five, he has a .919 save percentage and a 2.25 goals-against average. His goals saved above expected is positive at even strength, too.
The Sabres’ goalie situation hasn’t been perfect this season, but it’s tough to isolate blame when Buffalo has given up the sixth-most high-danger scoring chances, according to Natural Stat Trick. As a team, their high-danger save percentage is ranked in the middle of the league. They’re just giving up more of those chances than most teams."
Get another Dman
Get rid of Mitts Olo for sure aand start to assemble a real third line.
Grow some balls and be steadfast in your determination to dump ZGirgs and Okposo after the season. Dont let emotions cloud sound judgement there Kevyn. |

We aren’t going to the playoffs the way this team is constructed. Olofsson and Mitts have a lot to do with that. We are supposed to be figuring out who is gonna be here and who isn't. I don't need them tearing up the AHL like Quinn did, but they are playing very well down there, I just need them to make that line better. - Buff36
Idk what to tell ya
Claiming Jost off waivers tells me he doesn’t wanna bring any of those guys u mentioned up |

Makes sense
Hard to imagine we’d trade a guy we just picked in the top10 of the previous draft |

Good post.
I do wonder how Krebs would do with a more appropriate line. Playing him with Girgs/Okposo or Mitts/VO just doesn't fit.

Doesn't really feel like a Sabres move, does it? - Lunaion
The only way I can see them being interested is his cheapish contract for next season, and that he's an RHD. |

Interesting, 1 year extension straight to UFA. Guess that matters a lot less with a waiver claim.

I'd give Asplund-Krebs- Hinnostroza a whirl. I remember Hinno had a solid game at the end of last season, maybe he can rekindle it. Worth a shot. If not that, let's see Jost there. What is there to lose? |

I would too, but it just seems like we're stuck with the current 4th line (VO/Mitts) until a trade or injury.

Tampa almost immediately getting him to sign a one year extension, after trading for him, at a million less than his current AAV and $2M less in actual salary to avoid potentially having to deal with an ARB situation was something. |

From what I read here, it is.
As long as you get the credit for their line’s new nickname |

Beniers going crazy. I'll still take Power because he looks like a stud but I wish somehow we were able to trade Eichel in a package to get that #2 overall same year |

If the Sabres are confident in being able to put out a top 4 of Dahlin Power Samuelsson and Chicken in no specific pairing or hand then I would pull the trigger. Having Boosh and Joker as a bottom 6 pairing would be impressive to say the least.
The real question is what would it cost to get him, and do you still have a plan to fill in the 3rd line with kids and some vets. - Stripes77
I forgot what website I was looking at but they did the top 5 mock trades for chyrun (holy poop I need to learn how to spell it)
The guy said mitts / olofsson and a good prospect and Ryan Johnson’s rights
Which I am okay with. Just depends on who prospect wise
