I really could care less about the goaltending. Non of them are saviours. Anderson has been good against lesser opponents minus the NJ game he was great. Its too bad he isn't 5 years younger.

We need to put a complete game together in front of any 3 of them. Our team defense is horrendous and the coach's decisions aren't helping.

The Sabres as a team have outplayed Detroit, Tampa and Colorado. And yet, we're 1-1-1. Here's Colorado. The Sabres not only kept up with the defending champs, they actually outplayed them in EV.

https://www.naturalstattr...eason=20222023&game=20365

Colorado's powerplay was stronger (despite the 2:1 goal differential) and their goalie outperformed ours. I do think Georgiev was more egregious in the ones he allowed, though.

Disagree. Anderson doesn't get shelled by 8 or 9 to anyone. He made 41 saves. Almost as many as LetsEmIn in two games.
- lacaprup

Anderson let's in softies to, through his legs, over his shoulder. He just been more steady. As many good chances the Sabres give up it happens. UPL unfortunately has let in a few more, but he's also played some tough teams. If you really think the Sabres as constructed can make the playoffs than they need to tighten up a lot of things and not just goaltending. If you're developing than UPL should be getting starts.

i've seen enough good from this team that its time to make the move

there can't possibly be more than a two MAYBE three year window where skinner can produce on the top line, so make some trades to try to win during that i'd say

one more defenseman and a goalie. cmon now, we can do it!

Mitts is not a good NHL hockey player. I think he can be serviceable at some point, but he's shown absolutely nothing in a year that there should be signs of life.

His trends, unlike Cozens and Thompson, have shown nothing either.

Those guys at least were doing things that suggested that they can be good/better

Wonder instead of a selfie pole, maybe they can hang a Bon Bon from Mitts helmet. Maybe that will get him going. Every goal he scores it moves a little closer to his mouth.

I'd like to see him on the wings for 5 games with Krebs and Asplund. With that line, there's nothing to lose. He's clearly failing as a center.

You are telling me you don't want to see Anderson in the home games and you go to the games? It's a bit early to be drinking, sir.

Dirty dee's family has season tickets.

Possibly section 122?

He "pretend" goes to the all the games.

He wouldn't like assplund if he actually went to a lot of games.

NHL goaltending matters.

Ukko-Pekka LetsEmIn:
Tampa - 25 shots, 19 saves, .769% OT loss
Colorado - 33 shots, 28 saves, .848% loss

Craig Anderson:
Detroit - 45 shots, 41 saves, .911% win

Same defense. Same penalty killers. Same proclivity to take penalties. Different results. This ain't hard to figure out.

There are no rules while using this slang except for a condition — it must be something/someone you just cannot stop thinking about — but wouldn't mind so. After all, to live 'rent-free' in someone's mind translates to the fact that that person is constantly thinking about it and has little or no control over it.Feb 26, 2022

I think we're making two different points here.

I was simply stating that the offense has no problem producing. If you want to call out the group as a whole for not being strong enough in their own end, so be it. When Asplund is on his game, and some will really hate to hear it, he offsets a ton of that.

- TheSabresTaco

I'm stating that if you're going to build a team that rolls 3 (or even 4) lines, the lines need to be able to do both. When you're producing at the pace that the Thompson line is, you can more than get away with lacking defensively. The Cozens line looks like it can be strong in both ends, but the sample size just isn't there yet. We're going to find out a lot about that when they go through an offensive cold spell as players that young often do. Then you have the other two lines which are terrible both offensively and defensively. Asplund is good in his own end, but he's not good enough to make up for 5-6 guys' shortcomings.

Just for reference:

5v5
Tage (1st line): 21GF 14GA
Cozens(2nd line): 19-17
Girgs(3rd line): 5-8
Mitts(4th line): 6-13

The D is where things really get out of control.
Dahlin (1st pair): 26-17
Power (2nd pair) 28-21
Bryson (3rd pair): 7-21

If Mitts or Bryson is out, you have a problem. If they are out together, you're in big trouble.

And yet Detroit has the same points as Colorado and only 2 less than Tampa with a game in hand, and they peppered Andy with 45 shots. Yet, somehow, Andy manages a save % that looks like an NHL goaltender. Oh wait, that's because he is an NHL goaltender.

If we had an NHL goalie in the last 3 games we're 3 - 0 - 0.

Spencer Knight got his 30th win the other night. This season he is 7 - 3 - 3 with a 2.61 .919% line.

Who would you rather have, buzzards, Spencer Knight or the guy we drafted a half dozen or so spots ahead, none other than Dylan Cozens?

Not an easy question to answer.

Interesting one. I'd say Cozens. Looks like he becoming a strong 2-way 2C. Those are rare.

Yes it is Dylan Cozens!! Adams has had every chance to bring in a better goalie, and had plethora of chances to do it. He has chosen not to, the development or destruction of this team is his to bare as some have stated with players leaving because of goaltending. We can complain about goaltending all we want, this is Adams fruit to bare.
