You're serious? Putting Mitts out there to defend a late lead burned them in back to back games. His last shift of the night. - Lunaion
Sabres / coach had no choice tonight.
Samuelsson iced the puck, the 37 line had to stay on the ice for the faceoff.
Yes, terrible coaching decision at home vs Tampa with a 5-3 lead.... |

Someone needs to tell me what the team is missing without Asplund. A totally non productive, non physical forward. Jost already has become a better fit with 21 and 28, so what is 74 even on the roster for right now?
His one job was to make up for Vic. He doesn't do that well amymore. You are the weakest link, bye bye. - lacaprup
IMO, you're looking the team wrong. It shouldn't be about find the right 3rd man for 21+28 and 71+37. If you were just going to put the best team on the ice, and not care about letters or salaries, 74 is out there every night and it's a whole different group sitting. |

Of course he had a choice. He put them on ice when they should have been glued to the bench again. |

I’m tired of waiting for this team to turn into the 05-06 team like you’ve been predicting
Don’t worry about me being tired
I’ll take a nap
Maybe I’ll have some delusional dreams like you?!

It was an icing and for some unknown reason Donny didn’t call a timeout to get things situated. - joshs
You can't call a timeout after an icing anymore. They changed the rule a few years ago.

So we won without hitting….?
Hmmmmmm - jdfitz77
Doesn't hitting a goal post count as hitting, cause we won cause it Hit the goalpost twice. No but seriously, hitting doesn't lead to winning, doesn't matter how many hits a game you get, but a big hit in a game can lead to a winning goal that actually makes you win the game. So I pretty much think everyone has a point. Sabres could use to be a little more grittier. |

You know this is ridiculous.
No nhl team roles just 3 lines.
As a coach, you want these guys to get going. Break out of their slump.

Teams go with 3 lines late in the 3rd all the time.
Pilut played 5 minutes. They didn't even roll 3 D pairs. |

I’m not saying that being more physical can’t help at times- of course it can
But bringing in 4th liners that hit- but aren’t any good at hockey- will not help
I’d be all for a Tkachuk type player
But a 10min a night goon, like say Ryan Reeves,
just isn’t gonna help us win games
Toughness without skill is basically useless |

Physical teams don't just hit, they also get to the net, create turnovers, and win battles. Sabres are a soft team. Hits are just a stat that shows it.

Agree, I don't want a knuckle dragger, but this team could make it more difficult on teams. |

I'm angry because the last 2 games went to OT and he's far from my favorite player.
Gave up 4+ both nights, so that's bad goaltending again in your book? |

Mitts, Johnson and Portillo should get it IMO. - SABRES 89
I wonder what planet you live on. Why would anyone take the disaster that Mitts is off the Sabres hands? First. Second, have you heard what they are rumored to want? That this includes a first round pick and three other pieces. You want to give them two prospects and a player that no one would take unless they traded for him plus a first from the Sabres in exchange for future considerations. IMO.
I don't get how people fantacize about having other teams just standing in line to take the home team's useless players of the home teams hands. If they are useless for you then more often than not then they have no trade value. Can't say it never happens though. |

You watch any other Hockey than Sabre games?
He's playing at ~1.6 pts per game. That's a pace of 130 points.
He could play on my 4th line anyday. - IonSabres
And only since I would not break up our first line, I would take him to lead my second line. I still play him on the first.
