There is more to it than that, keeping the puck in at the blue line, being in position to accept passes, etc.

It isn't easy, especially for young D-men

- Stripes77

He and Dahlin switch sides often. Sammy has no problem playing his offside

Samuelsson might score fewer goals if he switched sides though

I think the real question is if Thompson is a center or not.

Also part of the reason I am not super high on trading for the chicken

He is not so good on his off side, on top of his injuries.

Schenn has been through the ringer a few times as well, if he has any tread left I wouldn't mind him at all

- Stripes77

He's playing pretty, pretty good for the Canucks this season. Still productive and laying the body out...he would bring a element we dont have...him and Lyubushkin with Samuelsson would take care of any schnannigans.

Get Horvat and Shenn in a hockey trade.

I do know a reliable source that says Chychrun to Buffalo would be the second coming of Eichel. To say the least he's full of himself.

We need legit scoring. Let's use those assets (and throw in Olaffson) for a consistent goal scoring forward. I feel like Dahlin, Samuelsson, and Power will elevate a 4th D-man and we shouldn't invest all those assets on D.

More to do with the defensive side IMO. Easier to get your stick in passing and shooting lanes as well as pushing to the outside when the F is trying to go wide.
Some coaches care alot, others not even a little bit.

I think the short term goals should be to

1. improve the 3rd line of casey, olofsson and vinny

figure out if krebs fits in that slot or not

we have seen enough of casey and olofsson IMO and it's fare to say they are not long term fixtures if the goal is to be good

2. upgrade the slot joker plays

if that means drop joker to 3rd pr fine, if it means ship him out, also fine

3, figure out if 6k is in long term plans, and that only comes with nhl games

4. get johnson, levi and portillo signed in the spring

5, do everything possible to let cozens, peterka and quinn grow as a line

6. work on special teams
- homiedclown

All reasonable ideas imo

I'm more than ready to let the following go
-Joker
-Mitts
-Krebs
-Girgs (TDL candidate)
-Okposo (not happening)
-Olofsson (keep posting pts at EV to make it happen)
-2023-2nds
-2023-1st protected though
-a couple prospects

Should be able to find two guys that fit from that collection
- IonSabres

Don’t agree on getting rid of all that
But i do think there’s enough trade chips there (plus we have more that u haven’t listed) in order to make a good move or 2 (or 3, lol)

He's very content with what he has.

His trades have been selling guys who have asked out and acquiring players for future considerations. The moves he needs to make now are completely different. He needs to break out of evaluating mode and make a few hockey trades. He hasn't shown that kind of decisiveness yet.
- Lunaion

I don’t think “content” is the right word

Adams is just being patient enough to realize that not all young players reach their potential by age 23
Giving the kids time to develop so he can more accurately see what he’s got in each of them is just a smart move

Odell Beckham Jr. was removed from a flight at Miami International Airport on Sunday after police say the free agent wide receiver was "in and out of consciousness" and refused to leave the airplane when asked.

According to a statement from the Miami-Dade Police Department obtained by multiple outlets, officers were called to the airport for a medical emergency after the flight crew expressed concern that Beckham was seriously ill.

"The flight crew was concerned for a passenger [Mr. Odell Beckham], as they tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt, he appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness, prior to their departure," the police statement said. "Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill, and that his condition would worsen through the expected 5 hour flight, the attendants called for police and fire rescue. Upon the officers arrival, the flight crew asked Mr. Beckham several times to exit the aircraft, which he refused."

Yeah. To play devil's advocate, I'm reminded of the time NYI traded for Vanek from the Sabres and then flipped him at the TDL to Montreal.

They could acquire him now and then flip him if it doesnt work out.

I just want to see the Sabres shoot their shot

- Hank Balling

The Islanders didn't exactly make out well in the trade for and trading of Vanek circle of life, as they gave up a 1st and 2nd round pick for him, and were only able to get a late 2nd back along with a nothing prospect.

https://www.capfriendly.c...ades/players/thomas-vanek

What's interesting is what Buffalo ultimately got for Vanek, as Moulson was part of the return from the Islanders, and the Sabres got back a pair of 2nd round picks when they traded Moulson and McCormick to thw Wild.

Unfortunately, they squandered the picks and signed Moulson to the bad extension at 31 years old.
