Anyone who watched the game last night would agree with you.

Quality chances against UPL were just too many. Buffalo could make Hasek look average right now.

If Hasek was in net he would of already snapped on this team.

Craig Anderson is buffalo's best goalie in terms of goals saved above expected, and hes ~25th in the league

There's been a handful of games that you could scream MAKE A SAVE on a game changing goal

Anderson got beat cleanly on unscreened wrist shots from the circle against vancouver, for example

- robz228

You're beating your head against a Kevyn Adams burner account.

He was clearly an NHL goalie, which is why multiple NHL teams offered him contracts. That's beyond question. The question is why did our moron GM string him out and then lowball him?
- lacaprup

I liked Ullmark a ton, despite the injuries. We were a dog-poope team and he still managed a winning record. That's isn't the issue.

We low-balled him? Um, no. Adams was willing to match what he signed with Boston. Ullmark demanded a much higher contract to return. Facts matter.

Lol no. UPL looked awful. Out of position constantly. Is down way too soon all the time. And got beaten cleanly in OT after Elliot stops shot after shot.

He's trash.

this is true - that was a bad goal. And guess what? We scored one goal that game.

If Adams does his job the year before that, he probably could have gotten him on a 3yr at less, but he didn't he choose another 1yr and walked him into asking for that big contract.
- Buff36

He signed 1 year @ 2.6m. 4 years @ 3.5-4m would have been fair.

Imagine what this team would be if he gave Ullmark, Sam, and Montour multiyears.....such a waste.

Don't know where this 6 x36m came from with Ullmark but it only even came close to 5m a year because Adams made the easy 1yr decision and ended up F@cking himself Stank style.

the Buffalo sabers need to pay up. That is beyond question. So when they think they're going to keep a guy for the same price as the Boston Bruins they are in fact low balling him.

Are you watching the games? He made some unbelievable saves last night. I suppose he should have had the goal that tied it that went off the guy's knee?

And at which point did Elliott stare down a hall-of-fame sniper standing by himself in the slot after a terrible defensive breakdown? Each goalie made some big saves in OT. Eventually one of them is going to go in. Our D choked and left a guy alone in the slot.

That is incredible. I am more and more convinced that Mitts is only on this team because the Pegulas both have him as a darling but moreso since they would have to pay this disaster $2.5M to play in Rochester. They are already paying Bjork $1.6M to play in the AHL. In any case, which team could be stupid enough to trade for this guy unless we give them one of our picks to take him. Maybe there is hope. Maybe the Sabres will buy him out. It will only cost them a total of $867k while saving them $2,167M and, best yet, only hitting the cap for a total of $767k spread over two years. However, that means that this team will have to deal with his inept play for the remainder of the year. Do I trust them to do even that? Hm.
- sabrebuzz

The Sabres won't buy him out. He provides moderate offense and plays a limited 5v5 role. I think in the right situation he could be useful at his current celery, but it's appearing that it's not for this team.

Thats usually a sign of bad defense.

When a goalie can't trust his defense to play the system in front of him he overcompensates.

Did you watch the game last night? Go watch the penalty kill. It was pathetic.

Passes were going back and forth at will and UPL was sliding everywhere because what choice did he have.

25 shots 6 goals.

Stop embarrassing yourself. NHL goalies stop pucks, even deflected ones. Just not Buffalo Sabres goalies the last three seasons.

You're serious with that? If we agree to match another contract then it is actually low-balling the guy? Is this the new "its almost a first" statement on this board?

It doesn't get any more clear than an unproven, oft-injured guy demanded 6x6 to stay here, which is way more than he would accept from others. Adams wasn't being cheap, he was correctly valuing the players worth.

Again, where were you last year when he sucked?

You’re going to die on “goalie played great” hill after allowing 6 goals on 25 shots.

The Sabres outplayed Tampa in every facet of the game…. Except goaltending.

Gotcha - we need not watch the games, we should just pick stats that please us.

Lets not forget that he stood on his head in the previous game during a different game that was a shooting gallery. How many teams win cups by giving up 15 high-danger chances a game? You don't.

Right here, saying he was better than anyone on our team, and he certainly didn't suck last year.

This ain't a new stance for me, fella.

and you're going to die on the lack of reading comprehension hill. I never said goaltending has been great. It isn't winning or losing us games. Our problems are elsewhere.

3/4 on the power play Tampa passing at will and Stamkos 10 feet out top shelf.

But its all UPLs fault.
